Thanked 173 Times in 72 Posts1. Copy the .cab file on your M8
2. Know where you put the file
3. Disconnect your M8 from your pc
4. Go to documents on your M8
5. Search for the cab file
6. Once you found it, tap the touchscreen one time on the cab file that you want to install.
7. You will see a thing pop-up and that means it is installing
8. When its done you will see that it disappeared.
9. Exit documents by pressing the big M button on your M8.
10. You will see the head-menu and you will see a thing turning a round, that means it is refreshing its desktop so you can open your application by tapping it on the head-menu.
11. Done:D Just press the icon from the application and that application will start
Remember:
1. You install application on the M8 not via the computer or something, you only need your M8.
2. Windows mobile applications are also .cab files, but dont expect them to work, because the dont!

Thanked 7 Times in 4 PostsIf your data is no .cab, also only a folder.
Put the folder on your disk anywhere.
Use M8Sprite to add desktop icons.
Create a new icon and start it from the main desktop.
If you dont like a icon, go into documents search for the folder and use the .exe
Good Luck
PS: Some Apps only run on new or old FW
Thats sometimes the problem, why it didn`t start.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHey all,
I bought my M8 in China a few weeks ago but hadn't got the time to put any applications on ...just been using the basic things.
I have no computer programing background at all, so you can probably understand that this forum is driving me crazy...But off course I can see the great advantage of it!
So thank you to all for the info!
But can somebody please explain in simple words what I should do with my M8?
I did a firmware update yesterday, lost all my contact (yeah!). But now I'm stuck. Can't find any CAB. files?? Where should I put the CAB installer, how does it work??
Thanks for the help!

Thanked 50 Times in 30 Posts@missp: It doesn't really matter where you put the CAB installers. I myself created a folder named "CAB" in the DISK-folder (the good thing is, if you do a FW-update, the things in the DISK folder won't get deleted).
Then I put the CABs in this folder and install them from there. You do not have to chose a folder for the installation files, that is done automatically.
Is that what you were asking for?

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsOkay,
I've got the cab installer in a seperate file and it also appears as an icon (good ejn!?)
Now, if I want to download an application it always comes as an winzip file. Do I put the whole winzip on my m8 or what do I do with it? In the winzipe I haven't found any CAB files...
And what can I do with this sprite-thing? Does it replace my settings?
strange.....

Thanked 50 Times in 30 PostsWhat app did you download as .zip? If there is no .cab in it, there probably is a folder that includes an .exe. Just put that folder with the .exe on the M8 (for example the DISK folder) and run the .exe.
Well, the Sprite is a kind of system manager. For example, you can arrange the icons on the desktop (hide them, use another icon), you can uninstall apps, you can edit the registry, etc. It's quite useful.

Thanked 200 Times in 145 Postsit depends on the file ending.
if the ending is .zip. .rar or.7z you need to un-pack them before you copy them to the M8
If the ending is .cab you just copy them over.
M8 sprite is a tool to change many internal setings of the M8 and i reccomend to use it only if you have a good idea of what you are about todo.
The Backup tool that you find in the Settings of the M8 should be enough to backup everything you usualy need .Meizu M8 SE - FW 0.9.9.18 (dao89 n450) Dualboot LBE A11 Android 2.2

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsokidokie! Thank you for the advice...next problem :-)
I installed the bluetooth and wifi button as an icon and they work.
But then I tried to put on the other touchpad. And I've installed it and then the Dutch one (I'm Belgian). And the touchpad I can see but I can't change it to Dutch...mmm. Any advice?
Are there other thing you guys/girls think I should download on my M8?
greets!

Thanked 200 Times in 145 PostsKeyboards still dont integrate well.
Most of them dont work in the browser at all.
Also there is no 'the' keyboard, there are some different ones that have been adapted for the M8 guessing which one you installed wont get us far
I reccomend FTPCE_M8 for easy access to the M8 via WiFi
and also FLV show to watch online videos.Meizu M8 SE - FW 0.9.9.18 (dao89 n450) Dualboot LBE A11 Android 2.2
