Thanked 1,049 Times in 391 PostsTry restarting the phone, and if the xip.bin file is still on Disk reinstall the firmware by holding down the power+music button when you turn on your phone.

Thanked 1 Time in 1 PostTry to download firmware 0.9.0.4 and then reinstall firmware again. I met the "Failed, please try again" message before and I tried to use an older firmware and it worked.

Thanked 19 Times in 17 PostsThanks for your Tipps, but my Phone can't install Firmware. I think the Problem is my Phone cannot read the DISK (8GB)! I dont no why, but when i try this: (Settings > System > System Reset > Format Disk) he show me in "About" now its all right, i have the full capacity! But 1-2 min. later its so: (Capacity UNKNOWN / Avaible UNKNOWN)
And I have no Access to DISK (8GB) why?

Ok, Calm down, I am hoping we can resolve this issue and it is not a HW problem.
DO a registry reset only first.
>Turn the phone Off
> Hold down the Start and the M buttons together and let the device say Registry reset...
>Turn the phone Off again after it comes back on, you will see chinese at that point of time.
>Open the phone and take the battery out.
>Leave it like that for about 5 mins... any charge left in the capastors will drain out in this time.
>Reinsert the battery, and turn the phone ON.
>Go to system, and reset the language to English, restart the phone.
Now check if everything looks OK
>In the mean time, download the 0904 FW from this forum, extract the RAR file on your PC, you will have a XIP file, most probably between 74-78 MB.
>INstall the USB drivers for the M8 from the Disk that came with the Phone.
Connect the Phone to the PC.
Copy the XIP file to the Disk in the root directory
Shut down the phone, and follow the procedure as given above by N2KU.
For detailed instructions, search this forum, there are really well laid out procedures for doing everything.
Kaviat: Make sure that you have the XIP file in the Disk Folder and not in the Device folder. Also make sure there is no other xip file in there.
Let us know how it goes...

By any chance did you ever format the Disk thru the PC????
If so, then it is now NTFS partition, I am not sure, but I think the M8 is Fat32 or a derivative there off...
So looks like you are going to have to send this back to Meizu, but before that see if you can reformat the M8 in the Fat32 Format, and see if that works, do all the rest as indicated above.
Also, you keep saying that when you click on icons nothing happens..
DId you do the Registry reset???
Go into about and tell us what is the FW version, and the HW version on the screen??

Thanked 26 Times in 5 PostsYou said when attached your M8 to your pc, a message read "you need to format the driver" appeared?
Can you try formatting it or it returns an error?
If you can't format the disk, you may need to send your M8 back to have a mend.
