hey guys! the M8 is absolutely quad band. but why the official show on their specification is dual band? because there is some reason the official want to speed up the process to get the trading license. so don't mind about that again. the only thing to do is just get your M8 and insert your SIM then using in any GSM network.

So you're claiming even the official one is quad-band? For confirmation, has anyone tried the M8 on a network that the official version isn't supposed to have the frequency to access it?

Thanked 26 Times in 5 PostsYeah all M8 are quad-band, GSM 850/900/1800/1900.
I doubt whether I could explain it clearly, but in China not everyone can produce and sell cellphone freely. Every model that's going to release must past a test by a goverment department who'll give you a label that make your product "legal to sell".
MEIZU doesn't want its M8 to be too long tested, so they applied that M8 is only Dual-band, not Quad-band. That's all.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsIs this true? Cause I`m from Brazil and i really wanna buy one Meizu M8, but I`m having many problems:
First, I don`t know if it`s quad band or not, the Meizu page says that it`s only dual, so i don`t know if it`s gonna work in Brazil. In affirmative case, does it hava to be "unlocked" to work?
Second, does it has or not WI-FI, the site does not mention anything about it. In affirmative case, does it hava to be "unlocked" to work?
Third, and the most important thing, where can i buy it? does any amercan store export it to brazil?Last edited by Err0r; 06-08-2009 at 07:34 PM. Reason: No need to quote the post precisely above your own.

1. All versions are quad, they aren't locked to any carrier.
2. No Wi-Fi on the official version, but test units have it, you might be able to find one floating around
3. No official dealers sell it outside of China, you'll find gray market exporters online.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Poststest works for sure
Yeah I bought mine a few months ago and it works perfectly in the quad-band area. I live in Oregon and I use it everday to make calls / texts on T-mobile. Mine is the test version with Wifi 8 gig. You dont have to crack for the carrier, but you do have to crack it using the M8cracker to use Wifi and Edge.
