    Meizu M8 display fault warranty

I bought a Meizu M8 on ebay Germany and it shows after one day a display fault. There are violett stripes across the display. The seller didn't tell me where he bought the phone. So I contacted Meizu.com and with the serial and IMEI number they told me the following:

After checking serial & IMEI No., this unit was sold by a Chinese dealer as below.
    保修日期:2009-3-29 至 保修结束:2010-3-30 (Warranty: From Mar.29,2009 to Mar.30,2010)
销售商:广东深圳联鑫创展科技有限公司 (Dealer: Shenzhen LianXinChuangZhan Co., http://www.lcwy.com/ec/category.php?id=6[/COLOR])
    客户名称:陈先生 (Contact: Mr. Chen)
    客户电话:81941688 (Tel: +86-756-81941688)
For more telephone Nos., pls see http://www.lcwy.com/lxwm.htm.

Has anyone an idea how to get the email-address of this dealer?
Should be no problem to get the phone changed or do I need the original invoice?

Thanks for some help in this case.

Meizu doesn't distribute M8 products abroad. You bought a gray-market import knowing (?) the risks.

Your best bet is to contact the seller on eBay.

I don't think it's a good idea to contact the Chinese company as they will most likely not be able to serve you in English.

What??! The contact info is where the German eBay seller bought the M8 that HE sold. What are you going to do with it?

Why grey-market import - this dealer is an official dealer for Meizu M8 phones.
I hoped to get a way to find out an email-address, because of the better handling than by phone.

You didn't buy it from the dealer, but a grey market importer. Once again, contact the eBay seller and not the authorized Shenzhen official Meizu dealer.

"A grey market or gray market is the trade of a commodity through distribution channels which, while legal, are unofficial, unauthorized, or unintended by the original manufacturer." Grey market - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

And, I don't think Meizu sees eBay as an official channel. Logical?

    Maybe some misunderstanding:
The ebay seller is a private person who bought this cell phone from the dealer in Shenzen. He sold it on ebay as an used one.
But anyway thanks for the help!

Ask moneyback from seller, or whatever Ebay offers as customer protection, especially if you paid with PayPal.

He sold you item with defect.

    There is no misunderstanding.

Meizu's warranty terms for M8 still don't cover problems with phones overseas. For the third time, contact the eBay seller.

Why not contact the shenzhen dealer and see if he can speak english. If not, get someone how speaks chinese to contact the dealer, and propose you send it to them for repair. you should pay shipping both ways.
Err0r: Why should the ebay seller be responsible if this happened after the buyer received it?

I think what Err0r wanted to say it that if you buy something in Germany in an (online-)shop the seller is responsible for the warranty. You, as a buyer have a lot of rights. Two years of warrenty for new items, one year for used items, and they are not alowed to charge you for shiping ors something else if it is a warrenty case. All of this only if you dont buy it from a private citizen. There you dont have a warrenty from this private citizen seller, but maybe from the manufacturer.

Exactly, that's the point. If you buy something fom a private person you have no warranty. I already contacted the chinese dealer and try to arrange a repair (got finally his emailaddress). I keep you posted what happens.

Yeah, alright. I think I misunderstood. As I understand, there are a lot of people selling M8 for commercial gain on eBay.

Anyway, I also tried to point out the fact that they (Meizu & reseller) really have no responsibility helping out, since the M8 isn't even sold outside China.

I hope you'll solve it, good luck.

Only for information, if someone is interested: Since yesterday the Meizu M8 is on it's way to China for repair/change on warranty. Because I send only the phone the shipping has been 8.05 Euro as a registered letter. Let's see what happens.

I have sent my M8 for repairs, the lower left part of the touchscreen was not working. I was told it would take about 10days. I am having it repaired in the same city as I am, so no posting required for me.

Hopefully you'll get yours repaired soon.
