Which are your biggest advantages the M8 have compared to the 1st generation iPhone?

    1. Full cambatability, no converting music or videos.
    2. No Itunes, full browse and access from any pc.
2.1 File transfer to the pc can be done any time in 2min via the cable.
    3. Windows based system, editing the system is easy as can be.
3.1 Creating themes take 30min with photoshop.
    4. Price, even shipped halfway around the earth, it is still half price of a Iphone.

On the downside; availability in western counstries, and having it be Chinese by standard.

I just think the best thing is that you can access the filesystem. You can't download files and transfer them to your pc on an iphone.

This list has the potential of going halfway around the world, since the phone has so many great aspects.
Some may call it a 'clone' but i call it a stroke of genius :D

Let's be fair here. Apple apps are easy to install too. Perhaps a better advantage m8 apps have is theyre not regulated by apple.

I'd have to agree here. Both using iTunes (which I hate BTW) and Cydia, it is very easy to install apps. It is so simple now to jailbreak the Iphone, you really don't have to go through the Apple App Store, there is quite a large number of apps and themes available using Cydia.

I do believe that the M8 screen is much brighter and has a higher resolution than the Iphone. I have both the M8 and the Iphone 3g. I don't use the M8 on a regular basis mainly because the progams I need do not exist for M8.

As far a price goes, I paid less for my Iphone than I did for the M8.

My contribution as a iPhone user

    1. Music doesn't need to be converted for the iPhone. The m8 doesn't support a huge spectrum of resolutions+codecs so you still need to convert them (same with Apple).

3.1. I'm guessing making themes for the iPhone with photoshop would also take about 30 minutes.

    4. The lower price is also a result of less featured hardware. Of course, if you don't need them, only then this is an advantage.

    7. I'm guessing the App Store is even easier than a .cab install with applications which might not be compatible with Meizu OS.

    9. The iPhone also has volume buttons...

    10. This is an advantage because? The iPhone also has an application framework.

    11. Don't buy the official 15euro cable :P, get one from DealExteme for 2 dollars.

    16. No advantage, the same with App Store.

    18. iPhone OS already has most languages (more then Meizu OS has) so you won't have to hack into language files. I can image some less popular languages not being included if you manage to import the iPhone and 'hacked/fixed' the simlock though.

    20. Lol :P It's not only smaller in thickness though, the m8 is smaller in everything.

I just think the best thing is that you can access the filesystem. You can't download files and transfer them to your pc on an iphone.
    - Jailbreak

Don't get me wrong; the fact that i'm critisizing the above points also mean that i agree with all the other points

How much money did you spend for iPhone apps DusL?

The lower price is also a result of less featured hardware? why M8 has 3M pixel camera and more ram DusL ?

Well then you lose battery life...

Actually, after Jailbreaking many friends's iPhones/iPod Touches, none of the apps are paid, all are free. Although If I could choose, I would much rather have a M8.
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.

The M8 basically has somewhat better hardware, a nicer screen, somewhat better codecs, more openness, and that's about it. The iPhone pretty much dominates the M8 in everything else. The basic applications on the M8, such as phone.exe occasionally crash afaik. Personally, if you gave me a free phone, the choice between an iPhone and an M8, I'd pick the iPhone.
