    Outlook calendar export

    Hi,

I was wondering if there is a chance to export calendar from Outlook to M8 somehow. Have anyone tried that? Is it possible at all? If you know anything, please share you knowledge with me.

It is possible to do, but I have not tried it yet. I could try it now..
To do it the easy way, you just go and download ActiveSync to your computer and set the phone to ActiveSync mode and then connect it to the computer with a USB cable.
When ActiveSync shows up on your computer and you configure it, set it to sync the calendar.

    Edit:

I meant Windows Mobile Device Center, not ActiveSync...
ActiveSync is the mode you set the phone in before you can sync things with it, and the program you use on your computer is named Windows Mobile Device Center.

    Edit 2:

I just tried to sync the calendar I have got in the Office 2007 pack, and it went just fine. There were made changes both on the phone and the computer.
The configuration is the simplest I have ever seen! When you connect your phone, you get two questions!
The first is what you would like to sync (example: contacts, calendar ..), question number two was whether you would like to combine the info you got on the phone with the info you got on the computer, or if you would like to erase all your contacts, calendar info and so on and replace it with what you got on your computer.

...really? Everytime i´d tried to sync my calender it went in to chaos....the timestamp on the M8 was wrong...and therefore my calender in outlook was changed...and so on...

is it the timezone that should be the same on both devices? How is it possible to change the timezone in the system of the M8? It is definetly not enough to set for example "Frankfurt city" as hometown to change it!?!

EDIT: this topic shouldn´t be in the apps forum i guess...this is general discussion...

I believe I had problems with that too for some time ago, but I changed the timezone for a while back, and I think that is the reason everything works fine.

To change the timezone, you go to the Windows directory and enter Explorer.exe, then you go into the control panel icon. There you will have an icon with the name Date/Time (if you have enWinCe installed), it has the icon of a calendar and a clock. I just changed mine to GMT +1 and clicked on Auto daylight saving.

If it doesn't work for you, I don't know what I did different

    Btw, I use firmware 0.905...

Task list does not get exported.

Eventhough the calendar does, there was a bug in that if you had a lot of calendar entries your calendar would freeze up... I use the outlook holidays feature and when that got synced my calendar literally froze the whole phone.

Don't know if it has been fixed since i stopped using active sync mode back in february...
