Thanked 1 Time in 1 PostSlow browser?
Tried a m8 today with firmware 0.9.0.4.
Browser is very slow (on wifi), almost unusable. Even sites as Skweezer (which I use a lot on my iphone to get things smaller and faster) was slow, and didn't render right, so it was almost unusable.
So, a question to you that have a m8. Is it always like this, and are there other browsers awaylable which is better? Can you get opera mini to work on the m8?
I live in Shanghai so could pick on up pretty cheap, and wondering if I should or not. You think I could easily sell it back in europe for 2000RMB if I'm not satisfied with it ? (I'm from norway)

Thanked 1 Time in 1 Postthanks for your reply. I thought the browser was opera mobile, as opera mini uses servers in norway to make pictures smaller.. The opera mini I had on my very old nokia phone was much more lightweight and quick than this.
But good to hear that browsing over wifi works good for you.

Thanked 1,024 Times in 375 PostsNo, it's actually a customised version of Opera, not mobile, and not mini. I'm sure it doesn't use the servers of mini, because otherwise it would be quite snappy.

Thanked 1 Time in 1 PostSo do anyone know if it is possible to install opera mini? Opera say that can run on almost every phone.
Also I felt that the camera was very slow! took about 4 seconds from pressing button to pictures was taken.

Thanked 1,024 Times in 375 PostsYou can't install Opera Mini for the moment. Maybe when the developer of the Java Emulator finishes his program we'll be able to use it.

Opera Mini is a great mobile browser, it almost renders pages desktop grade. I've used it on my Sony Ericsson and it's great, but I don't have a data plan so I can't really use it.

Thanked 1 Time in 1 Postis the browser faster if you turn off loading pictures and javascript?

Without JavaScript, it'll probably be faster since the M8 can't render pages nearly as fast as a desktop. Without images, that's just less to load.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsMyself, i find the browser fairly useless; some wap sites text only look and work better on explorer.exe - but i think one of the issues is signal strength, i have tried to use internet radio a few times, but if i leave the room the router is in, it becomes fairly useless...
