After restart all contacts gone!

Something new is happening!
After I restart the phone, all my contacts are gone
They are still in the backup folder, so I cover them back to phone....then I restart and they are gone again...
Any Ideas why the phone is cleaning my contacts ?????
It is just about the contacts, everthing else is alright!!

Did you just update your firmware 9.04 from lower version?

If so try this:

1. Back up all your data.
2. Connect Pc and copy your contacts and open the folder you just backed up. There should be a contacts folder, open it and put your contacts here.
3. Recover data and shall solve your problem.

I don't remeber if I miss any steps, but last time I get my contacts back while upgrade from 9.03.

yes , I upgraded.....but the is no contact folder and no backup folder in it !!!
and I cannont even create on, cause in the screenshot you see, there is something missing!!!!

in 0904, dont you back up from settings...

Try downgrading to your previous fw, see if the backup folder for that is still there. If so, restore and then do a backup from settings (from the desktop icon) instead of from 'phone contacts management'. If not, then no idea.

Yes, on 0.9.0.4 and I think 0.9.0.3 you already had to do backups from settings rather than contact management

i got very worried about the same thing. because the backup phone contacts button is not there. it all in settings now, and if you didnt back up before you changed the FW, i fear the worst...

I am really worried...
cause this happened after I tried some apps, like MProfile....which I had to remove, cause it did not work, then put on again and it worked....
So I played with instaling some apps....
And suddenly this contact backup was gone!! ( and I am sure it was there before )
So, now I tried the 0.9.0.5 FW........same thing !!!!
and in \disk\...........the 2 folders contact\backup does not exist,strange!

rori I said try downgrading (to 0.9.0.3 or 0.9.0.2) and see if you can recover the phone contacts, not upgrading.

0.9.0.4 (and .5) do not support the backup from phone/contact settings that you're looking for in your first picture. Furthermore, 0.9.0.5 is not stable.

If now through 'documents' or from your PC you cannot see the backup folder, then all contacts are gone and you need to reinstall them one by one. You didn't try making a backup copy onto your PC after all these problems on your M8?

Your second picture is Setings - Info page. Not Settings - Sytem - Data Backup. Which would most probably be empty anyway since you didn't make backup through system before. Otherwise you would see backup dates as in my picture.

.. I think, I did not read your advice well enough ..and just reinstalled another FW 0.4...
but, however....
I had 0.4. on it before and I had this function to backup my contacts...
Even if I dont have this function anymore, it is allright, cause I do not loose my contacts when I restart the phone which is important.
And thank god, I had a backup on my computer!

So thank for your time - function gone, but problem gone, too!
Perhaps it will be solved with a future app.....

the function IS in settings from no on, so just back up from there!
