Any news about international version of M8?

Some weeks ago I read in the forum there will be a international version, no news about that?

Meizu probably won't release an official international version of its products until it can sustain it self in a global market. This probably won't happen until at least the M9 comes out. Then they still might not want to globalize.

yeah I have to agreee, I can't see an international version of the M8 coming out and who knows when we will see the M9. The M8 has in so many ways been a complete anti climax for me and many other prospective international customers.

The thing I find strange is that the M8 has so many FW issues/problems that even regular chinese made handsets don't have when used abroad. All this having to enter international dialing codes and adding 1's and no caller ID and all the rest of it. I have to admit that I have kind of lost interest in Meizu and the M8 a bit of late.

I mean they have abandoned the Mp4 market and the only product they make is effectively beta. I had really hoped that this wouldn't be the case but in essence the worst case senario that I always feared has pretty much come true. No wifi and A whole host of FW problems. Lets hope they can iron out a lot of the Fw issues soon and get an international version out the door this year.

It seems other companies are abandoning the Mp4 market aswell. SmartQ have ceased production of theri popular T5 II model and the TAO aswell. Their MID is looking great though and if all goes to plan and it performs well I will be the proud owner of one soon.

I've asked the hungarian importer of Meizu pruducts a week ago. They told me, that the M8 will be available within two months, with a localized FW, and with WiFi. However, I still don't know, that will be the international version (I don't think so), or some test versions with upgraded firmware.

I'll post if I get some news from them.

I think there is a member here with intentions to sell a modded M8 in a european country (possibly hungary) i remember him starting or contributing to one of the earlier 'change language' threads... basically it will be the Chinese M8 with some of the menus/icons in a different language, the 'fw' will still be Chinese. I could be wrong though.

Hopefully not, 'couse I've contacted with the official importer, they have a contract with Meizu. So I hope it would be as official as it is possible. We'll see! I'll keep you posted with the recent threads I know
