What does the Format Disk Option Do to M8??

    Hey !!!
Just wanted to know if someone has done this...
What does the Format Disk option do ??
The reason I ask is while doing all the upgrades and downgrades, installing different applications and all that... I see a lot of files scattered on the Disk... so I was wondering if I could format the M8....???
What would it do... would I loose the Phone functions??
I know I should loose all the files unser the Disk... but reformating the disk, will I be able to get everything working again...?

    Thanks,

It does exactly what it says. Deletes everything from the Disk folder, and basically it will be like when you first got the phone. Firmware remains the same, and the process takes about 1 minute or so.

When I look in the settings menu under format is a warning about format affecting USB. Does anyone know what this is about?

I have done the formatting out of curiosity, and as stated above, it deletes everything, even your wallpapers, photos, themes, icons, etc. So the phone is resetted to what it was like when you got it.

Thats not correct....When you formate a Disk, only the first byte is set to Zero. THis looks that all files are deleted.

But when you use a recovery-program you can recover all your files...

    Test it
