Is there any way that the M8 can REMEMBER or SAVE the WEP key?
It's rather annoying to re-enter it each time one connects to a password protected wireless connection.
All other devices seem to be able to remember the password, but the Meizu M8 doesn't.
Anyone know of a setting or registry setting I could tweak to have the M8 remember the WEP key?

Thanked 1,022 Times in 374 PostsIt does remember passwords usually. When you turn on the wifi, wait for a few seconds until it connects!

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI can confirm it remembers the key; but it may take a couple of seconds to 'find' your network and connect to it with the proper key - so if you are impatient you will wind up having to enter the key manually.
Additionally, you have to give the phone a second or two to connect to the network when you unlock it - even if wifi was turned on.
Maybe the connectivity issue is software related and can be fixed later on...

Thanked 3 Times in 3 PostsWeird. I can confirm that the M8 does NOT remember the WEP key, and that it requests it every time.
Very annoying.
Okay: I see SNOOP_69's post: I too have multiple locations, and that maybe the reason it doesn't remember the WEP key. If this is correct, we may deduct that the M8 only can store one WEP key if only one location/network is inputted.Last edited by Pig; 04-07-2009 at 11:24 AM.

Thanked 2 Times in 2 PostsWhat I found is once you put in your password for your WIFI connection, you switch to closed setting. Once you leave the area it will not find it which is normal now if you go back into where your WIFI is it will not see it until you turn off the M8. Once its on it will find it and you don't have to keep putting in your pass word.Try that and see if it works for you.

Thanked 3 Times in 3 PostsThanks twkii,
unfortunately I'm not quite sure what you mean.
I tried a few things, but it's always the same: although it can find the wireless networks, I can't log into them without inputting the WEP key every time.
