my guess is that no one on this forum would have the experience and equipment needed to solder af wifi chip in place. First of all the components are Surface monted, ie very hard to solder with your standard radioshack soldering iron, and second, the connections are so small that their nye impossible to solder by hand

I know I could not solder a BGA manually but I work with guys who have the right equipment

btw. these photos date dec.5th, so it is not even the m8 without wlan

old photos but with the official release as dark13 said it could be helpful.
