Doesn't look like it fits like a glove.
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.

silicon case is not horrible in actual, the the picture looks bad because of the carton image as part of the packaging of the product.... i have 3 silicon cases, white, black and blue. It's a perfect tight fit on our M8 (not glove like fit as the picture showed, as again the picture is not with m8 inside but only a carton picture). Use this silicon case if you don't put your m8 inside your jean tight pocket, cause its really stick - since its like a rubber property, its difficult to put in and take out of your pocket. However your in your car, you can put your m8 on the slanting dash board or anywhere and it won't slide down, its safe of slipping.

For the crystal case, its really nice, our entire m8 looks - black shiny beauty - are well displayed, as the crystal case is transparent. Its crystal case I'm using right now.

the silicone case does add bulk to the phone but there are slots in the back of the case for me to route velcro straps so can and attach it to my arm and run

Silicone is generally better, if you don't mind the dust magnet feature. It protects from serious drops, but in a flash based device, I guess it will protect from cosmetic damage, as will a Clear case. So in this case maybe plastic is better because it looks a bit nicer (In my opinion), doesn't attract dust, and drops don't really matter in a flash based device.

This is mostly a matter of personal preference, just like glossy and matte LCD monitors.
