Touchscreen issues

Well lately my M8 has been having touchscreen issues. It will start flipping out when i try to unlock. This first happen outside (still winter where i am) and then now it happens when i leave it alone for like an hour come back and it flips out. It returns to normal once i restart. Does anyone else have this or know why its happening to mine? Could it be the cold?

Have you scratched the screen, exposed it to a lot of moisture (unlikely since it's winter), or dropped it? This seems like the cold is affecting it, but otherwise it could be the cold. There was a previous issue where a user's M8 would randomly shut off due to the cold, but it could also be a hardware issue, since you said that after a few hours it would do the same.

no issue on cold... im here in china, its still winter here, temperature is still single digit to negative outside environment, my room is at 11degC all the time, but never issue on my m8. yes clear your registry, or your fw to latest, otherwise your physical phone unit has an issue itself.

Hi and welcome to the forums! Have you tried letting the battery drain fully and then recharging, it's just a guess, but it might work. I don't own a M8, so that's not my area of expertise. You could also try to leave it off for a while and then trying to use it again to see if it works, or you could just get an exchange, or refund from the seller you got it from, as Err0r mentioned.

Okay, I'm glad that this was resolved, hopefully your new unit will not have the same problems.
