M8 3G = TD-SCDMA???
This is usually waja2000's turf, but while I was hunting for PConline's comparison of the official vs. test M8s, I came across this little article:
Translated version of http://mobile.pconline.com.cn/dclub/0902/1568511.html
It basically says Jack Wong is satisfied with the screen quality & resolution of the M8 (whoa, big news there...I'm in shock) and -much more interesting- that he now supports China's own 3G standard, TD-SCDMA.
(Wikipedia overview of TD-SCDMA)
TD-SCDMA - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This apparently has fans all surprised/shocked/alarmed/mad/whatever because Jesus Wo -sorry- Jack Wong had previously given a thumbs-down to TD-SCDMA.
Of course, he really has little choice because unlike previous attempts at a homegrown standard (CH-DVD, anyone?), TD-SCDMA is going to happen and it's going to happen on China Mobile, by far the biggest mobile provider in China.
If this is a clear indication of Meizu's direction and not just more J Wong navel-gazing, then it's also interesting because it's a clear signal just how committed Meizu is to building the M8 brand in China at the (possible) expense of other markets. You have to wonder if the mythical second-gen M8 3G will end up being an even more China-centric device than the current version and the best international markets can hope for in the foreseeable future is, essentially, what the test version of the M8 is now.

Possible, but more likely is when M8 3G comes out TD-SCDMA is already outdated...
