Found this method on the chinese bbs, and it works pretty well!
edit: works with mp3 streams too!
edit2: works with flv videos too!
1. Online radios:
First you need to create a file with "asx" extension in whatever folder you want on your M8, and then input the address and the name of the online radio like this:
After you did this go to the directory you've put the asx file and select it. The music player will start and soon you can listen to your favorite stationCode:<ASX Version="3.0"> <Entry> <MR2 Petofi Radio> <ref HREF="http://stream001.radio.hu:8080/mr2.mp3"/> </Entry> </ASX>

2. Online videos:
Open an empty notepad, insert the address of flv file (maybe works with other formats too) then save it as Example1.flv
When you select this file from the browser it will start the video player and you can watch online videos!
Warning: Use WIFI or otherwise it could be a very expensive experiment!

Here's an asx file for example.Last edited by nice2know_u; 02-21-2009 at 06:36 PM.

Thanked 1,024 Times in 375 PostsYes I can! It's on a hungarian server, and maybe the wifi speed is not enough so don't be surprised if it lags...

IT DOESNT EVEN LAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I need to find a way to do that with youtube!!!!
Btw: funny people the movie seems nice
Where can i extract the url for youtube, so i can do the same with this?
If meizu would know this, they could create sort of an option so you can watch youtube on opera

Thanked 173 Times in 72 PostsThe url has to end with .flv, else it doesnt work, probably it also works with other extensions. Ill try that!

If the opera browser on the M8 cant display the video(flash player needed), maybe it CAN show the url, and maybe from there you can open the video player on the M8 to open it
Maybe something to try: use GooTube FLV Retriever. You can copy the url, and it will create the direct download url for it. If you can copy an url in opera from youtube, you can past it in the empty bar and then you are at least able to download it

right if you want a direct link to the flv file on youtube do this >>>>
1.go too www.file2hd.com
2.input the url of the youtube video
3.then click accept terms
this will then take you to a page with direct download links to the FLV file (ending in .flv) and also a high quality .mp4 version of the file.
not sure if it will work as it is usually used just for downloading but worth a try anyway. Works with any embedded audio or video too.

Thanked 5 Times in 5 PostsHi,
I've tried streaming some various files :
In my experience, ( haven't tried much yet ), only .wav files stream.
You click a link in the web browser, and music player opens up, and starts playing the file. With a .mp3 file, the music player opens as well, but it hangs.
Anyone else had some other experiences ? Tried the .flv link into notepad method for youtube links, that doesn't seem to be working, neither is the high qual mp4 link.
