Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsWikipedia article on LiIon batteries has some good info. The money paragraph:
So, keep your batteries half-charged and put them in the fridge if you're not gonna use them for long.At a 100% charge level, a typical Li-ion laptop battery that is full most of the time at 25 °C or 77 °F will irreversibly lose approximately 20% capacity per year. However, a battery in a poorly ventilated laptop may be subject to a prolonged exposure to much higher temperatures, which will significantly shorten its life. Different storage temperatures produce different loss results: 6% loss at 0 °C (32 °F), 20% at 25 °C (77 °F), and 35% at 40 °C (104 °F). When stored at 40%–60% charge level, the capacity loss is reduced to 2%, 4%, 15% at 0, 25 and 40 degrees Celsius respectively.
Don't freeze your player though. It won't hurt the battery but the rest of it might get somewhat messed.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI have observed that every time I'm having my player with me when I go somewhere and it's like almost below 0 Celsius degrees the player tends to show EMPTY battery in the upper right corner. The thing is it isn't, I have no idea why it does that when it's cold outside.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsBattery and movies
Hello,
When I play movies on my new M6 SL, The battery lasts for max 3.5-4 hours,
while the manufacturer says it should hold for 6 hours. I tried to reset battery by fully discharging (as mentioned in the guide herein), but to no avail.
Do you think i got there's a problem with my battery ?

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsIt's gotten warm but here's an answer that can be classified as "better late than never."
The battery meter is measuring voltage and estimates power level based on the usual discharge curve of the batteryl. Unfortunately cold weather depresses the voltage. Your Meizu can't tell the difference between a fully charged cell that's cold and one that's warm and partially discharged at the same voltage. The battery actually has lower capacity at those temperatures too. Not only is the meter off but your runtime really will be shorter.
The simple solution is to put it a pocket to let it get a little bit of body heat and warm back up closer to it's normal operating range.

Yes, but at your own risk. Higher capacity batteries may be from not so reputable companies, so they may get very hot and eventually catch fire. The safest ones to use are always the manufacturer's original ones, but you probably could use an aftermarket one.
