DUAL SIM on m8 ??
Hi guys!
does anyone know if there will be a "dualsim - version" as well?
has someone tried out a digital dualsim-adapter on the actual m8 version?
Actually íīm using a sciphone i68+ and iīm pretty happy with it (except the function of the touch screen)!!
I would need a dualsim because i want to use my business and my private sim in one phone!!
if anyone of you have a dualsim-adapter would you please be so kind as to test it for me (and all the others whos interested)??
Iīm from germany...havenīt got the m8 yet...but iīm waiting for the delivery...should be in 7-10 days from now...

It doesn't support dual-sim and no such plans have been announced.

Dual Sim means to be able to put 2 sim cards in a phone AT THE SAME TIME. As in, there are 2 sim card slots in the phone.
The m8 only has 1 slot. So draw your own conclusions...

Sim switching requires two sim slots. the M8 only has one. Please don't spread false information as it is misleading and utterly pointless.

whatīs up?
whatīs up with you guys? someone called "tail...." posted a comment on my video....FAKE FAKE FAKE....are you kidding me??
Iīm using a special adapter (cutted my two cards) in the "only one" sim slot and now iīm able to switch between two networks!!!
If your not interested in informations on "using a phone like an adult" which means for business and not for gaming, then i wonīt post anymore!!!! Just say it...

It just seems unlikely that it could be real. Firstly, even if you cut your cards up the way you did and put them in the one sim slot, the hardware isnt designed to know to read 2 sim cards. Also any chip i have seen has the chip almost the full width of the slot, and isnt modifyable in that sense by just cutting. so it is a little hard to fatham this could be real. Please show more video proof and hopefully you can prove your legitamacy

this is the adapter!
and i ask again...what reason should there be to fake a video or post a fairy tale ???
As i said some posts before: Iīm using the phone for privat and business and i need the phone to work with two simcards because i donīt want to carry two phones with me all the time. I tried to manage the dualsim function on m8 and now it works...
the two cards are not online at same time, but with the "new" menu iīm able to switch between the two cards!!!

Thanked 1,024 Times in 375 PostsI was always wondering what could that "STK Application" be... so you have to restart your phone every time you switch cards? Doesn't make much sense that way, but at least it works.

i have to restart / reboot the phone, thatīs right and i wish the phone would have two sim slots and booth were online...but it hasnīt.
but its also ok and make sense to me as it is right now.
Iīm travelling a lot for my job. at working-time my private is off and after quitting work in the evening i reboot the phone and could call my girlfriend with my private "simyo - flatrate". the next morning i reboot and do my business calls....and so on...
itīs fine for me!
my old Sciphone i68+ was online with both simcards...and it worked pretty good. but the UI, the display and all the Outlook syncing was awful!

for me, it's fine enough even to restart every time switching to the other sim. i would be glad to have that function....
snoop_69, your uniquely very good, can you share where we can get that sim adapter?*************************************

Apparently dual sim adapters DO exist. His adapter involves cutting the sim card and tools to do so can be bought at online stores.

update
on firmware 0.9.0.3 the dualsim-switching works without rebooting the phone. Just run the STK-Application choose the SIM-Card and back to the home-screen. It takes about 2 seconds and the other SIM-Card is activated.
I created a new desktop-icon (as you can see on the screenshots) which starts the STK-Applications directly. Works absolutely perfect now!!
