I pretty much agree with Sere ( well enough to save my typing lol)...
UK (£) cost of the M8 is far to high ATM.
Lets face it one of the main bonus points about the Meizu M8 was the cheaper retail price ( compare the the iPhone etc)
hopefully when full distribution is established the prices will drop...

There you go! Maybe you can get it for $20 cheaper here haha ^_~.

I'm afraid I have to pull you up on that part there man...
Phone: 2380yuan/rmb@ 6.7667[today's rate] = $351.72
screen protector: 50yuan/rmb@ 6.7667 = $7.38
----------
that totals: $359.1
leaving: $140.90
----------
shipping to DUBAI with EMS: 565yuan/rmb@ 6.7667 = $83.49
----------
that totals: $442.59
leaving: $57.41...
That means you paid a premium of $57.41 for your phone. If you were charged customs and charges it would have hit over the $500 mark, even if they hadn't charged you that premium as customs charges/duties/taxes are at least 27% and up of the product cost which would have equalled at least : $96.95, and that is at the cost price. So please don't try leave remarks which you don't have complete knowledge about. Thanks

look above at what I said for the value at today's echange rate.
It is available right now for €332.48 @today's exchange rate of 8.8063
or with a spare battery: €355.20 @today's exchange rate of 8.8063
I honestly don't know where everyone is getting their prices of €380 - €500

Also, factor in transaction costs and currency exchange costs that a seller would have to stand for. These should account to 4-5 %.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

I said APPROX 500!! I'll leave whatever remarks i want to leave, thank you.
And customs duties in UAE are a flat 5% not 27%... So maybe you could do your homework first. Additionally, you didn't factor in my bank charges for the wire transfer, the chinese companies bank charges for recieving the wire and i clearly mentioned i used TNT not EMS - there is a HUGE difference in service.
We all know you are trying to sell phones, and good luck with that, don't disect my remarks with imperfect information.
Whatever i paid, I was leading to simply state that some of the ebay auctions, which are selling the phone (if they are real) are reasonable, considering those sellers are charging a premium - PROFIT - as is your partner, right?Last edited by anxiousone; 01-15-2009 at 02:12 PM.

In relation to customs charges, I made a mistake on that part and you are quite xorrect in saying it is a flat 5%.
In relation to bank charges, in China you are not charged for receiving money internationally into your account. I should know, I live here. I don't know about on your end for sending it. But it is usually a flat fee up to a certain point. Since you sent such a small amount, I can't see your charges being too high. About 10-20 US Dollars.
Yes you did say TNT but their charges are not much higher than EMS. About an extra 20$.
Only one part of what I said was mistaken. I am simply pointing out the fact that you are misleading many people on here saying it would cost APPROX $500. The fact that I have helped people on here obtain a phone for much less than that is not the point I was making. I am not trying to advertise that fact and neither should you. It is besides the point!!
And I am simply detailing that what you say is reasonable, is in fact NOT reasonable. Both from whoever you obtained the phone from and the ebay sellers.
Lastly my friend didn't make a single cent on the phone that was sent out. The fee charged didn't even cover the costs of what she did for the first phone, that won't be the case for the remaining phones. But like I said, she is not out to make profit. As everyone knows here, I have been a member for quite some time and am simply helping people I know on here. So please refrain from trying to bad mouth myself or my friend. Thanks

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsAnna22, you are better off buying an iphone or any similar phone that is available in the US.
Unless you are looking for a snappy media player, with basic phone and messaging capabilities, the M8 is just not there yet.
Its a far cry from being a smart phone with media capabilities.
