Hey guys, long time lurker first time poster.
Today, after 2 years of waiting, I finally got the M8. In the meIantime I used an iPhone for more than a year. In this thread I'll compare the two phones.
First impression: M8 is very light, much lighter than the iPhone. Build quality is good, typical of Meizu. Interface not as responsive or smooth as iPhone, think HTC Diamond. I've only been able to test the music with the default ringtones, and so far the sound is very good.
The screen is gorgeous. Very hard to distinguish individual pixels as the resolution is so high.
Feel free to ask any questions about M8 in comparison to the iPhone. I am on the bus, and with continue testing when I get home and have access to a computer.

I have a few questions:
1. can you transfer and watch video's with out the need of converting?
2. which firmware version have you got on it?
3. what is the english language translation like?
4. would it be worth while getting this or a cowon o2 as a media player?

. . . .

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThe M8 comes with a transparent protection sticker on it. There's a few small bubbles on mine. Not sure if I like it.
1. Yes, tried with a standard 700 MB AVI and it worked.
2. 0.8.0.1
3. Similar to M6 in its earlier days (Before 1.009)
4. Will reply to this after further testing.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI've just unlocked WiFi on the M8 and realize the WiFi functions weren't that well implemented. The signal is not very good, and sometimes when the icon shows full connectivity it is actually disconnected!
gabest - I will need to use it for some time before I can say.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsComing from an iPhone user, the sound on the M8 is absolutely fantastic.
I bought a headphone adapter for the iPhone just to be able to use my regular headphones. This caused the audio to go mono with the same sound on both ears. Still, this sounded better than with stereo with the default headphones.
Compared to the iPhone, the M8 sound is a lot more clear with greater depth. Very enjoying to use together with my Grados...

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThe M8 screen is amazing! Just did a little calculation.
iPhone screen DPI: ~165
M8 screen DPI: ~255
For some perspective, compare it to the $USD1999.99 Motorola Aura's 300 DPI.Last edited by verygood; 01-12-2009 at 12:23 PM.
