3. Finally, I'm not completely sure about this one due to the unclear Google translation, but it looks like things are shaping up for a future negotiation between Meizu and REAL regarding the long awaited RMVB format support: original thread

I heard that Jack finally confirmed that there was to be no WiFi on final versions. Have you seen this?

You never know, specifications might be changed anytime.

i only saw a thread about fans asking if the price will be lower without wifi, and JW said that he 's not planning to lower the price, since the wifi module only costs a few dollars.

thought it's not explicitly there, but i'm guessing it is the funeral of the wifi in this (official) version

I'm looking at the recent threads on the Chinese BBS right now, and can't see any indication of this... I would suppose there would be a huge thread about it if it were official.

this thread was about the hardware of the 4th pack of test models (they sent them to retail stores in packs. 3 packs went out until early january, and the 4th just recently). and fans were making guesses why some stuff changed, and aked JW about that.
then he replied that there was no change in the hardware since the first test models hit the market in december.

but this doesn't say anything about the official and final models, nor the license.

@ MiDeCo - Interesting. Let's hope that they only "officially" release it without WiFi and leave it to the user to unlock the feature like before.

On a side note, it's pretty liberal of the forum to accept posts containing "a a a aaaa" and "ding".

I really hope they release it with wifi though. Guess I'll wait a little longer for the answer .

wifi or 3G is ESSENTIAL if meizu want a marketable product, or even an iPhone killer. They will lose alot of customers if they have no wifi on the phone. It would be one of the only so called 'smart phones' without internet access. and am i right that the m8 license business had nothing to do with wifi, right? Just something with the Meizu logo on the Main Menu button, right?

yeah, google translations are really mixed up sometimes. i don't really like it. no wonder they still can't use machines to translate stuff
actually, i could've posted that piece of news earlier, but i thought it's not that interesting how many packages of M8-s came out, and so on.

man, that is the worst news i've heard all year. I can't believe it. After waiting over a year and half.......this is what the M8 has become. A sad joke. Devastating. I feel really let down almost cheated.

I can't even take this phone seriously anymore. A multimedia smartphone with no internet?. Unf**kingbelievable.

The M8 cannot compete with the iphone, and cannot be considered a smart phone anymore.

R.I.P M8, wish I hadn't wasted so much time on you.

I'm still keeping my promise until March. If things don't get better I may either get an iPod touch or Samsung YP-P2 with a newer phone.

I know it has edge but it's so slow I don't even consider that proper internet.

Plus the plans in North America are overpriced.
