Jack Wong actually has confirmed that the world wide version will be available in 2036, it has been delayed due to them not getting the license.

isn't it possible to release the version with wifi in Hong Kong (=ebay) only? I know HK is part of China, but I thought laws were different there.

Yes, it's possible. When it comes to control of the airwaves the laws are slacker in HK.

Goods from HK is not 港行, it's 港货 or "hong"货.

i've officially given up on the m8 and picked up an htc fuze (touch pro). hopefully the international version will be out once i need a new phone
