Well, the good news is that Hong Kong will probably be the first place outside the Mainland to get the M8. The not-so-good news is that, right now, with no government network license, the M8 isn't an "official" product and probably can't be exported. Back to the good news: Shenzhen is just across the border and a day trip there could be a good way to buy one. Back to the bad news: we haven't heard much about supply and demand recently, but there might still be a waiting list to buy one if your friend goes there.

The above is true if your friend will be in Hong Kong very soon...after one or two months, who knows??

BTW, no problem with English because the interface is both Chinese & English. As for the dictionary...there's a dictionary?? If you mean the language settings, yes, in the future everyone expects the M8 to support many languages, either officially or by 3rd party (fan) efforts.

if by dictionary you mean a normal dictionary, not the T9 or other predictive word list, then there is Kingsoft powerword which is available it seems, and working well on M8, and also there were some news of mdict working too. these are of course chinese-english dictionaries
