Not Allowed to Export M8?
So I met my uncle today who promised an M8 for me earlier. He said that to buy the M8 he needed to register his name, address, and sign a contract that promises he will not bring the phone out of the country. Were other M8 users required to do the same thing?
Furthermore, I think the bands 850/1900 are locked on Chinese phones due to regulations. I bought another fake iPhone and when I brought it into the US it did not work, even though the phone says it is quad band.

How they want to control if you take the M8 out of China? If you go for vecations maybe to Germany and you take your M8 with you, I don't think anyone don't care if you bring the M8 back to China...
I think this is only good if you're planning to do big shipping with it. And if really everyone have to sign such a thing all the Pre-Order Shop are scamers :/

Has anyone seen the pictures of a Meizu store yet? Or rather have you been to an Apple store before and seen the pictures of a Meizu store?
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.

Do you mean the online M8 app store? Or a authorized reseller? To compare a Meizu reseller with an Apple store is really not fair. To open flagship stores is exactly the kind of money Meizu doesn't have. IMO.

12-22-2008 #9Interesting. I wonder if this is part of the language of the contract that buyers are signing as "testers" for these pre-license M8s. I guess it would make sense as, to the letter of the law, the phones aren't currently allowed to be sold, much less "exported".So I met my uncle today who promised an M8 for me earlier. He said that to buy the M8 he needed to register his name, address, and sign a contract that promises he will not bring the phone out of the country. Were other M8 users required to do the same thing?

12-22-2008 #10I don't understand. I've been to lots of Meizu shops, so yeah, they exist.Has anyone seen the pictures of a Meizu store yet? Or rather have you been to an Apple store before and seen the pictures of a Meizu store?
If you're comparing the scale & professionalism of an Apple store with a Meizu shop, then just look at the capitalization of the two companies behind them. Further, what do expect: a store on Fifth Avenue in New York that only sells M6s and M3s? Remember that before the M8, Meizu's line consisted of a whole 2 products + some accessories. Come to think of it, it still consists of a whole 2 products now that the M3 is out of production

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThe shop I went to also sold iPhones for example, they had a poster of the M8 at the wall and a few M6ses on display. There was nothing like Demo Unit or Beta or something else written on the small piece of paper with the IMEI etc. Haven't really attempted to buy the device, but the owner knew I was not Chinese (I don't speak a word Chinese) and offered it to me.
