    Nobody is idiot.

According to my test, the current while listening to MP3 is about 48mA in average. So the estimated runtime of MP3 playback would be 1200/48, about 24 hours, or 1 day.

However APE format needs more power to decode. M8 would only keep running for 14.5 hours for APE playback.

No. One should never overcharge a Li-ion battery, or it may explode.

There have been a rumor for a long time that you should charge a Li-ion battery for a long time before first use or among the first several charge circles. That's WRONG. Charging for about 12 hours does nothing good for a battery, in fact there won't be any difference between charging 12 hours and charging until full. All the charging control unit in a device will cut off the charge current when it thinks the battery is full. Then there won't be any current flowing into the battery, the device will be directly supplied by the external power or start to use the fully-charged battery and ignore the external power based on the designer's opinion. After all, keep the external power after charging completed won't make anything different, except wasting some energy.

However, NiCads do need a full charge and discharge when brand new. Li-Ion is a fairly new technology, and it can be used straight out of the box.

And I want to thank you again, fineday, for providing us all with this information that you are in no way obligated to do. It also looks like you are fairly good with electronics, do you do this stuff as a hobby?
