Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThat's just stupid question.. Of course it's not as fast as PC, it's a mobile phone.

No, it's valid. The speed would and should be about the same if the internet connection is slow enough.

but in M6 in the sound effects menu there was an option, called Spataliazer, that could be turned off or on. When you turned it on, the sound became much better than it was turned off. M8 doesnt have a thing like that?
Yes,it's seems base on fw 8.0,only have the "Equalizer", anyway i think the function of "Spataliazer" wills be added in future's fw.I'm not so sure; has there been any news from Meizu about this? If you look at Wolfson's spec sheets you can see the WM8987 (M6 & M3) supports "3D sound enhancement"...the Spatializer, in other words. The WM8753 (M8), on the other hand, has no mention of this feature; just tone control and bass boost. I suppose there's some cost & marketing logic there because the two chips are intended for different applications.yep, i think so, because as far as i remember, the Spataliazer for the M6 wasnt included originally, was added in a firmware. Im glad you already like the sound quality, it can only improve in the future
Wolfson does have a chip called the 9714 that's in the same category (both voice & audio) as the 8753; it supports 3D sound as well as other stuff but sure it must be a more expensive solution.
BTW, if you believe in numbers as a guide to audio quality, the WM8753 has slightly better performance on paper (SNR & THD) than the WM8987.Last edited by chengdude; 12-21-2008 at 02:11 AM.

You must understand that there's no objective way to measure what sounds best. I'm sure that many listeners absolutely hate the spatializer. What you can measure are specs like those mentioned by chengdude, but preferably on the device as whole, not just the chip.
So, the bottom line is that you have to listen for yourself if it's very important for you.- [Fred]

What fr3d said

If this kind of sound effect is important to you, then there is always the possibility you will be disappointed with the M8's audio quality.
But look at it from a business/technical point of view:
- Meizu has been a manufacturer of MP3 players.
- They are famous for having good sound quality.
- Meizu fans are very passionate & vocal; they would be expecting excellent sound quality from the M8...anything less and there would be outrage and disappointment on the BBS forums.
- From the M6 to now, they have worked with Wolfson to provide audio codecs.
- Meizu engineers could compare Wolfson products to find the best solution and to match the sound signature of the M6 & M3...maybe not exactly, but close enough that people would say "Yes, it sounds like a Meizu".
- So far, it seems people with the M8 are happy with the sound.
If brilliant sound is your primary objective, think about it for a second: the M8 is a phone. Remember the WM8753 also has to drive the earphones & speakers and handle the voice. To expect audiophile quality from such an integrated chip is not very realistic. Sound quality will be very good, but I'll bet a Sansa Clip sounds better than the M8.
Anyway, who knows, maybe the M8 will get a Spatializer in the end; in the meantime I'll bet very soon we'll start to see threads on how to get the most from the M8's audio, including best earphones, settings, and maybe even an app or two.
