Iduno. They should but I'm not 100% on that. I heard that J.Wong said that he would include it.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI've had the chance to play with a M8 today. The screen is just brilliant. Amazing. I think the touchscreen is actually pretty responsive, I barely had it miss a button (eventhough I was using the side of my thumb... when using the fingertip it's no problem at all (at least in the few minutes I had). It was pretty easy to type fast on it. I held it in the left hand while using my right forefinger and my left thumb at the same time. The camera is a bit slow, but the quality as far as I could judge from the screen pretty good (I did zoom in and stuff, worked pretty well).
Have snapped two photos.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI was allowed to buy one. He had 3 or 4, all but one were sold already. He also mentioned that many people pre-ordered it. But I don't have enough money at the moment, and also I don't even have a SIM card here, so there's no point in buying one. Maybe I'll get one (or two) when I return to Germany, that will take a few months though. Hopefully until then the app support is better, I just need the Mobipocket Reader on the device, if that does not work then I'll have to skip the M8.
Anyway, he said that Meizu controls the price, so he may not sell it for less, but also not for more. 2380 is thus the fixed price, no bargaining, no ripping off because it is so rare.

kadajawi, are you inside my head?
I also played around with one today. Unfortunately, I came to the opposite conclusion with the typing. For my gorilla paws (AKA large fingers), the keyboard is just too small. Very responsive, yes, but I couldn't type without constantly hitting the key next to the one I wanted. I know practice will help, but I have to seriously think about this issue.
Other thoughts:
Like anything else you see for so long in photos, the M8 is smaller than I imagined. As I mentioned above, I have big hands and really felt like I was pawing the thing the whole time I was using it.
No one with the exception of those cross-shopping the M8 with an iPhone should be disappointed with the interface. I have little-to-no experience using these sorts of devices, but for me, everything zipped along very smoothly. Any criticism about lag or choppiness must be coming from someone with severe ADD.
The speakers are loud and sound fine...for phone speakers. But then again, no speaker that size can push enough air to reproduce mid- to low-range frequencies in any sufficient quantity. To my ears they sounded harsh and completely unnecessary. For annoying ringtones, on the other hand, they're probably fantastic.
Videos were great, of course. Vibrant color and very smooth. Unfortunately, I'm getting older and my eyesight is getting worse and I really doubt I could watch an entire film on the M8 without serious eye fatigue. After the M8, I took a look at the new Ainol V3000HD, a 4.3" PMP. That I could handle.
I talked for a little while with a couple of folks who already had M8s and were at the shop to get something done to their phones. They were loving it, of course. Both of them were using the "traditional China" theme and had their M8s cracked and loaded with all the stuff we've seen here on the forum: Foxit, MS Office suite, etc. The girl I mostly spoke to mentioned she had trouble with the headphone jack, so I wonder if she had one of the pre-revision demo phones. I asked her about text input and she admitted there was a learning curve and she was faster using a traditional phone.
Otherwise, it was pay your deposit & wait your turn...probably the same all over China. There wasn't a line of people waiting to try it out and the seller was coy when I asked how many folks were on the waiting list and how long the wait was. Based on the seller's response and my conversation with the girl above, I'm guessing a lot of folks are taking it like me: wait & see. I didn't get a particularly good vibe from this one shop (a bit of smug arrogance, I suppose, at having such a hot product to sell) and will probably check out one of the others sometime soon to listen with my own headphones. If anyone wants me to find out or look into something, let me know.
Based on today, though, I'm fine with holding off for another few months...save some money, watch what happens with firmware revisions, see what apps get added by Meizu or from 3rd parties, etc.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHm, my fingers aren't that big, and I'm used to type messages on my Motorola A925, which has a smaller touchscreen with a tiiiiiny keyboard displayed on the thing. Barely a few pixels wide.
The shop was pretty nice, and I could have taken the M8 right away. He even offered me to organize a few more, if I wanted to.

Probably depends where you are. It looks like kadajawi is in Shanghai, the commercial epicenter of China. I'm 2 hours from Shanghai and everyone's on a wait list. I'm guessing Zhuhai (Meizu HQ) and then Shenzhen & Guangzhou (Meizu's backyard and also commerce hubs) are getting supplied, but look at pekingman up in Beijing and the extra cash he had to fork over to get one.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsYeah, it is.
But available is available, even though it is very, very hard to get.

Nah, to me available means that you can just go and buy it if you want it.

This is sorta easy to sort out...there's highly limited availability [Disclaimer: Not available outside of China]

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHi I'm a newbiew here.. I'm a Filipino but working here in Shenzhen and I checked yesterday this M8 in Meizu shops here in electronics city (huaqiang bei) and was amazed how beautiful this celphone is.. The version is 0.8 and WiFi is working fine and fast, the screen brightness is wonderful, I also checked the response of the celphone and it's impressive very quick to open a new program.. There are some chinese there very happy with their M8 and told me that they are waiting for 2 years to have it. So I decided to get one but the shop don't have anymore stock. They said it's limited and I need to order and wait for 2-4 weeks so I place my order and they will inform me through email If they have it already. I asked a few shops here and they said that next month you can buy M8 in every shop here. I'm very excited to have one..

Welcome to the forum and congratulations for...well...at least placing an order. You're further along than most people here

Interesting to hear that in Shenzhen there's also such a long wait list.
