    Meizu M8 Europe Release

    Hello guys.

I just registered in this forum. I watched the steps of the m8 for a while now and I'm really interested in this thing. Because i did not hear any new news about it i want to ask here: Can we expect a publication for Europe? Will it be possible in the next weeks or in a few months to buy the M8 in Europe?

    Regards.

We are quite sure that there is no European release planned in the foreseeable future. M8 will of course be available from online sellers in China. Actually there's a thread on this forum where you can order the phone from one of our members. When it's officially released that is.

Karlson, just wait and see, maybe there are other people from your country on the forum so maybe you can order them together when it is really out?

I'm from Germany, and yes. M8 supports the German Mobile-Networks. There should be no problem using your SIM card in the M8, even if it's a ALDI-Talk SIM

Well... order together.. I dunno. I think I'll buy one on eBay after the offical release and pay by paypal... I think it's the savest thing you can do on the web at the moment. And seriously... I don't think there are a lot of scamers on eBay trying to sell and not existing M8 after the offical release

    Abwarten und Tee trinken.

i have a question on that topic:
Why won't it be avaible in europe. I mean, compare it with new Handys like the Blackberry, in my opinion the Meizu M8 looks and is much better and even cheaper... I know, in europe are much less people than in china , but there must still be 100000s of people who could buy it... It would be a wasted chance not to sel officially in europe.

Well maybe it is, time will tell. However Meizu has, based upon the information available, made the decision to not officially distribute M8 outside China at the time of initial release. This can absolutely change, but as far as we (on this forum) know: no European release.

did someone deleted my post from this night? .....I wrote in german, so Karlson can understand it better.....well nothing important, just saying that he just have to have faith and be patient when the m8 release starts. to be aware of sellers offering the device yet and asking for much more money than the thing is worth (compared to the official price by meizu).

better to wait (we all know, we can wait...waited so long already ) than to rush bying it from someone who might betray you^^

If you can read Chinese, you will find the answer.
J.Wong didn't say M8 will not export (to Euro etc.),he just means M8 will not export too many.

    Hi,
    A Chinese buddy said me:
"And do you know M8 is not real 3G phone, its 3G system is WCDMA, it only can work in China and Korea"

Is that true? I don't know nothing about mobile connections, so I don't know.
I will work in Europe, or not?

The expression of 'M8 is not real 3G phone' is wrong, because M8 is a GSM phone from the beginning to the end,no one had annouced that M8 would be a 3G phone.

And anonther truth is the China 3G will be TD-SCDMA dominantly,I really don't think MEIZU will update the M8 to support WCDMA.

I quoted Wikipedia on that a few days ago
China announced in May 2008, that the telecoms sector was re-organized and three 3G networks would be allocated so that the largest mobile operator, China Mobile, would retain its GSM customer base and launch 3G onto the Chinese standard, TD-SCDMA. China Unicom would retain its GSM customer base but relinquish its CDMA2000 customer base, and launch 3G on the globally leading WCDMA (UMTS) standard. The CDMA2000 customers of China Unicom would go to China Telecom, which would then launch 3G on the CDMA 1x EV-DO standard. This means that China will have all three main cellular technology 3G standards in commercial use.
For some reason I cant find the entry now. Something about 3G in China no doubt.

But remember that this is only speculations about the hypothetically 3G M8. The M8 released in China soon is GSM quadband.
