    Instant messaging on M8 possible?

    Hi all,

I've been wondering wether or not instant messenging protocols like MSN or google talk is already supported by the M8 or if a 3rd party software would make this possible.

    Regards,

    Venezia

QQ works for sure although no one uses that in Europe. I am fairly sure MSN and GTalk will be supported by some App, and if not we always got eBuddy or similar services.

eBuddy is not a solution for me as I would prefer an app running as a background task when you quit it. This way, you stay connected 24h/24.
I've seen some games running on the M8 in windows like Windows Mobile OS. Does Windows mobile app can be launched directly or does the code need to be adapted to the M8?

I come from Ireland and I use QQ. Its a good app but has too much adware in it.

Well, Europe maybe not, but in Holland, Germany and Belgium it's not widely used.

It might be good but no one uses it, so it won't make sense to log onto it.

I really hope you can use ICQ, because it's the most popular chatting-programm in Germany but MSN.

That's just the phonebook...you can save the contacts' MSN and QQ addresses.
JW said something about a MSN client for M8 a few months ago, but no news since then.

It more than likely isn't used by anyone who isn't Chinese.

In relation to msn, it has been in a lot of the reviews so it more than likely is available to be used. Remember, the GUI is designed over a Microsoft OS so it most definitely will work.

From looking at this screen shot. It looks like you can access msn contacts. The only reason I see this for would be to use in msn. No other point in having it available.

this screenshot is from the phonebook. you can save such contact details on almost any phone these days, but that doesn't mean they do support msn out of the box. although even besides that, i will be supported almost surely, but i don't think with the first fw versions.
