Thanked 9 Times in 5 PostsWould the battery life be considerably lower if SIM card was inserted before testing Music/Video? Assuming no call / sms received or sent during that time)

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI think it would be lower if SIM card was inserted since the device receive and send datas to communicate with mobile net. And by judging the test results of the standby time with/without SIM card inserted, it is definitely going to be lower to some extent.
----------------------------------
I think we forgot the prerequisites of the test: Default Setting, which is in flight mode. So we can sure neglect the impact by data communication because the device do not send neither receive any data in flight mode.
So I think the result is impressive.Last edited by redstar; 11-29-2008 at 07:19 AM.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Poststhe most advantage is that when the phone hit the market, most of the accessory factories in china will definitely introduce more higher volume battery, so dont have to be afraid of that

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsi know what you mean, you didnt catch me.haha
let me explain
179 hours is official working hours with SIM card.
we just assume the phone run 8 hours with SIM card, why choose 8hours because it is more objective, and related to 7hours of video playing time.
8hours/179hours *100%= 4.4%
we used 4.4% of battery life in 8hours, just for SIM.
the official time of playing video is 7hours, but we only have 100%-4.4%=95.6% battery, we just use 95.6% battery for video playing
7hours(video without SIM)*95.6% =6.692 hours
Therefore, 6.692hours is the working time for a M8 playing video with SIM card usage.Last edited by jack.jumper; 11-29-2008 at 07:38 AM.

Are you trying to say these video playback battery life tests were done without a SIM card so aren't accurate enough.
I think that isn't the case as when playing back video the processor is out of its "power saving state" unlike it would be with a SIM card in but on standby , So it wont need to activate to ping the cell towers ect. So in reality it may be a little lower but not 5% , More like 1% perhaps.
Regardless , Those are some pretty awesome figures , 7-ish Hours video!!! and 22 Hours music! Is crazyy..Click the little (+/-) button next to someone to reward or punish someone

If those are the 'REAL WORLD' battery stats then they are freaking awesome. I just hope they aren't the usual factory says one thing but real world shows another

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThe numbers were obviously recorded under optimal conditions, no way it will work that well in real life. I'm using higher bitrate files, I'm using quite a few Ogg Vorbis files which take more CPU power, I will leave the phone mode switched on, I will look at the screen more often, etc. But the times are still pretty nice, so I think a day of usage should be at least possible, which is what I was hoping for. And I'm going to have a spare battery in the backpack anyway.
At least if I'm going to buy the phone, don't know yet. The CNY is waaay to high, should be at the same point it was half a year ago...

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI wonder if those are actual stats, measures when taking the device with you on a regular day or in a factory in a Faraday cage with the exact right temperature and the best battery batch picked..
A shame the music is only 21 hours when doing nothing else, my guess it would do up to 12 hours. Could be annoying for me as it happens quite often that I leave home in the morning and think I'll be back that evening, but then I decide not to and sleep at my girlfriend's house. My M6 pulls this off easily with the battery, but on a phone which is used for other stuff as well, it'll be fairly difficult. Anyway, we'll see what it does. If it's too low, plenty of aftermarket accu's will be available and I'm happy to pay for that.

Meizu's battery stats for the M6 were quite accurate. Usually users would get a few hours more juice than what was promised.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!
