well I think the french people here will be willing to help you.
How is a translation made? is it a sort of text file extracted that can be re-written?
In fact, all w really need (at least in my opinion) is the french keyboard layout and special characters. For the rest, as what I see on the forum, we all speak enaught english to cope with the UI.Last edited by bmob; 11-20-2008 at 12:48 PM.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI hope you don't have to 'jailbreak' the phone before you can make changes to the OS / UI. But I think we have to do so. Begin 2009, when I probably got the phone, I can start.
@waja2000 can you ask JW if we can easily translate the UI into Dutch/French/German etc.?Last edited by xgaming; 11-20-2008 at 01:23 PM.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsLet's first wait 'til it's out so we can start looking for a way to translate it. Maybe it's not even possible or maybe it's already done by Meizu. When translation is possible, it's very easy to do automatically using, for example, an interactive website where people can contribute to the translation.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThat sounds good. I think it will be a good way to have a useful translation because the translation e.g. the German which is using in china mobiles is sometimes very funny. They translate it directly but in content the words they use have other meanings

I think it will be the same in French, Dutch etc.?

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Poststhank you waja for all the expertise you bring. i follow the forum religiously and don't remember seeing any concrete plans to release the second version. now with the first version of M8 is slated to be released, when do you think the second version, with all bells and whistles, will be released? UI would be the same so it should not take too long but you never know.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI think around 2010 (Probably Q1-Q2 in 2010), but I hope they'll release it at the end of 2009. The UI will be the same or almost the same. However it can take much time.... Like they have the Network License problem. Just wait and enjoy the first version of the M8

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsyes, but apple's situation is different as they primarily compete with itself and i believe that's why they offer very marginal improvements in the new versions. i don't actually think they need that long to develop a new version. they're mostly maximizing their almost-monopoly profits.
the case for meizu is different, especially if the second version and the first version are intended for different market segments. meizu should come up with it asap, wouldn't you agree?
