Those pictures look really nice except the rear. Different colors of black, silver border. It could be the light which makes it 'weird'. However, it looks like scratch-free material :D

is the border grey or silver? is it like the iphone's edge that is silver? Some pics have the edge grey and others have it silver? WHAT IS IT?

Probably just a metal outlining, which would make it silver. Best guess.

No more than the Samsung Instinct is a rip off of the iPhone. Or the equally crappy LG Voyage.

At least Meizu put a shitload of effort into the GUI. It just annoys me knowing that Meizu isn't going to get ANY respect for their efforts, mostly due to the fact they don't seem to realize how negative of an image they are going to get because of details like the shape of the "M" button and such. They could've just made it an elongated bar going across the width of the phone to change it up a bit, or put the buttons on the side of the phone, or something! ANYTHING but in the middle of the phone. If they put so much effort into the GUI, how hard was it to change the button, not to mention that little vote they had online.

Anyways, let's see if I can wait for the HSDPA version, pretty hard to resist though. Don't really want a 2G version, but man, the M8 is looking pretty sweet.

yeah I have to agree with you on that one Aron. In the eyes of the general public the M8 will always be an iclone. It is also very true that many people will refuse to give Meizu the credit they may well deserve, due to the M8's similarities to the iphone.

By not using tapered chromey edgeing and using a different button would have certainly helped to shake the iphone stigma. It is small details like these that go a long way in changing peoples perceptions. Neverthless I was genuinly shocked when I held a Samsung Tocco the other day about how much it looks like an iphone from the front only smaller in all round dimensions.

The thing is despite what people are bound to say, the M8 looks so nice and hopefully will have a very unique and easy to use interface so whatever anyone says will be of no significance. Many people do not actually realise how hard it is to make a tocuh screen interface with these chracteristics. I would say the vast majority of touch screen cell phones I have used (which is quite a few) have poor software and even worse hardware/software integration, weak response times and poor touch panel implementation.

This is the principle reason why the iphone has sold so well despite it's relatively low spec. There is simply no touch screen cell phone on the market with the kind of software/hardware integration and performance you get from the iphone. The user experience you get from an iphone is definitely unique. Useability is everything on a phone, combine that with great aesthetics a wow factor and one of the best marketing/pr machines in the world and you are on to a winner.

is the edge silver or grey? in some pics it is grey and others it a silver color. I hope it is the silver color. it makes it seem more awesome. BUT WHAT COLOR IS THE EDGE/FRAME: grey or silver.???

more likely to be the grey one. (and I hope it is.) cause that makes it look more luxury and integration in style.
