Speed of a mobile phone is highly dependable on the framework it's running on, so we'll see how much Meizu OS is worth soon compared to WinMo, Symbian, OSX Mobile etc.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI understand that you want a device with 3g and java support and that you don't need wifi, but just keep in mind that when the first gen iphone first launched it was in a very similar state. No apps, and no 3G. Now I am not telling you to wait for or even buy an M8, but just consider the fact that it is a first gen device( a slow to come to fruition 1st gen device, but nevertheless a first gen device). Your impatientce is completely understandable as we have all been waiting for quite some time. I do think that the M8 will be worth the wait however. Jack Wong seems like a perfectionist (you can tell just by his factory
) just like Steve Jobs and I think he is going to make the meizu experience a great one (even if we have to wait for an m to be on the main button
). The M8 has been tweaked and tweaked to the point that it is no longer an iclone, but rather a meizu phone. Maybe you'll change your mind and end up with two phones once this thing gets real, I know I will! Enjoy your viewty in the meanwhile, I hear it has a fantastic camera!

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postshey nice2know_u, i feel you will get an m8 as soon as it becomes avaiable. I would like to meet you then :D (11.ker. Budapest) anyways I read this forum every day, and now it looks we don't have to wait a lot until the miracle happens. I want to buy this phone since I first read about it.

I wonder if Mr. Wong wishes he had spent a little less money on the corporate campus and a little more on some MBA-types to better manage what goes on inside his M temple.
That campus also screams "outside investment"; I find it hard to believe Meizu could afford that complex based on a couple of years' sales of low-margin MP3/4 players.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsJ.Wong somewhere said selling one M6 could pay the loans for everyone for one day. Whether this is true is a second point, but if it's true I could imagine them getting some nice money from the M6 alone (and they got way more products).
@darkado: I guess you can read yourself, can't you?

WCDMA is on our future plan, because a lot other market required this standard of the phone.

I know that there are many cellular providers in the US that use CDMA (Sprint, Virgin Mobile, US Cellular, Cricket, etc.), but I have never heard of WCDMA before. Is it used in the US?

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsWCDMA is none other than 3G. You could also call it UMTS or HSPA. I wonder if the next M8 will be the first Quadband 3G Device 850/1900/2100/1700. That sure would be cool!

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsNegrielectronics has it on their site, no price yet though. Hopefully they won't mark it up too much. Negri does tend to do that though so I am a little worried.
. Negri has had the M8 up on their site since it was announced so hopefully they'll keep it at a price that's very close to the MSRP. If they've kept it up this long they must've believed that it would one day become real like the rest of us. If they do keep it at the MSRP they'll sell a ton of these things.

Thanked 30 Times in 17 Postswell, not too accurate there:
"Universal Mobile Telecommunications Service (UMTS): This is almost universally subscribed to standard for the third generation, part of the IMT-2000 initiative and is generally based on W-CDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access)."
while HSPA is High-Speed Packet Access, and is an extension of the original protocol, also called as 3.5G (and devided as separate updates into HSDPA and HSUPA which stand for Downlink and Uplink)略懂

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsYeah what's the deal with the M logo incident people? How did it affect release date. I've been reading disappointed people who went for other devices instead because of it.

Today we receive call from authorities related personal, they said our can continue other procedure first, but before issues the network license certificate, must re-submit the m trademark certificate.
I‘m see again new hope, now just hope can as soon as possible get m trademark certificate which already pass the public announce period. (remember have one m trademark already pass on 14/11)
以下是引用J.Wong在2008-11-17 23:58:00的发言:
其中有一类已经过了公布期,应该不久能拿到正式的注册证书
