if they could afford buying such a factory, why are they complaining about being short of money?

Yeah but they bought this factory it at the times of M3/M6SL ;]
by the way, they just lost another 2380rmb, this time from me - I've been waiting a whole dam year and finally gave up - I'm getting myself a Viewty for xmas (after long meditations I came to realize that wifi doesn't really matter if I have hsdpa/umts).
Still, I'm not going to dump my M6 while I get that viewtiful thing, I'm pretty sure LG's built-in media player can't even get close to M6 in terms of sound quality and such stuff

Sigh, so many people are giving up on the M8. Valid reasons of course, I've been waiting for this phone for over two years now. My Sony E. K310c suffices for now, but I would like a good phone plus media player in one.

Wow... the new office looks awsome!
Why so many people give up now? Most of us have been waiting for about 1 year now... in 1-2 Month the M8 will be released... those 2 month don't really matter. So just hold on

woah! That's impressive! I think this just illustrates the great potential that Meizu has. You can see that Mr Wong is not messing around. He is deifinitely doing things by the book and has serious plans for the company by the looks of things. Although I have not seen many factories the standards look to be very high.
I really think that with a little more focus on branding, image and marketing Meizu could become a real force in the media player/cell phone/convergence device sector. The thing is the need to get the M8 out of the damn door! It would be such a shame to see them go down the tubes for something as small as license issues with their logo! They have come so far in the last 2 years and I really want to see them succeed. Just concerned that more delays could spell disaster.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsDon't sweat the people who are losing they're patience. They'll be back just as soon as the M8 hits the street. I have a touch diamond and I do love it, but I am looking for a phone that will do a great job with media. Windows mobile just can't cut it right now. Maybe with the release of windows mobile 6.5 and its integration with zune software it'll do much better. Unfortunately that won't be until 6-9 months from now. So I'll keep right on waitin' for the M8. It would be nice if I had one by christmas, but I'm not going to hold my breath. I can't wait to put my fingerprints all over one! Hope it comes with a screen protector (pre-applied would be a bonus).

M8 without Java apps and 3G was already no-go for me. I was waiting for some change but unfortunately nothing new happened - still no word on Java, and the 3G version to be released after the 2G which is like saying 'after the release of duke nukem forever, there will be a expansion pack', so I thought 'well, if they aren't doing anything, then I have to do something' and therefore gone viewty.
Why Viewty? Because it exists (lawl), it isn't that expensive now (omnia and iphone cost roughly two times more, not to mention the htc), it has a quite big touchscreen (allright M8 was the definite winner there, but still 3 inches are nice), 3g and umts (no wifi but ah well), nice interface, it's not an iphone (mms, bluetooth, usb and stuff, you know) and of course, it has a camera that just kicks my 3 year old Kodak's silverish-plastic butt ;]Last edited by Pytak; 11-16-2008 at 08:22 PM.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsOh, I also want to touch on the processor subject for just a moment. It seems that the original processor spec was at 800mhz. Apparently according to jack the processsor isn't actually capable of that speed, instead it peaks at 667mhz. The device will normally hum along at 533mhz. Oh, and on a quick side note if I am mis-stating anything just let me know because this is the impression I got from Waja's translations. Depending on the needs of the particular application the full 667mhz can and or will be accessed. Now because the processor clocks at 533mhz while performing light duties battery life is preserved. This (underclocking) is typical in the cellphone industry. Whether it be a blackberry bold, touch diamond/ pro, or iphone underclocking is actually necessary to keep the device from having horrid battery life. So I am a little surprised to see that so many people are so upset that the device doesn't run at 800mhz.When the M8 takes advantage of its full clockspeed (667mhz) it is still faster than the Iphone's top speed of 624mhz which is good enough for. Could you imagine what battery life would be like it ran at 800mhz top and 667mhz underclocked? The battery life would be pretty bad I imagine. I am not sure how big the retail version's battery will be, I have seen figures ranging from 1300 to 1600mhr, but in either case I don't see the battery being capable of handling the power drain that would be imposed by an 800mhz processor. Maybe Jack will include a processor that powerful in the 3G M8. Which would be pretty darn sweet considering that 800mhz is the minimum requirement to run vista (not that the next m8 will be able to to that, but it would have the horserpower to). If you were upset with revelation of the true speed of the M8 I hope my little rant here helped you have a change of heart. Besides the M8 also has double the ram of the iphone which is what really counts anyway( just wanted to point that out ). Whew that was long!

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsOh for god's sake let it come without Java. Horrible piece of shit it is. I wonder while people still use it, it will overload the entire device and it would take you 3 days to open an application. They're better off supporting scripting languages like C++, Python, VBS, etc and not wasting time on Java.

Yeah sure, let's just implement the x86 architecture into mobile phones. Slow-mo Java apps are still better than no apps.
