Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsall sounds well, i am really hoping to see the m8 soon here in europe, i prefer the black version, so thats a good thing that there is a black version coming first.
I hope to get it in a few weeks in europe, but i think that it might not be so easy. (perhaps i will find it on ebay?)

"M8 basically already support CPU auto freque ncy auto adjust, if not battery will run out fast, like u watch picture, went u scroll it the frequency is increasing, went not do anything the frequency will drop."
Remember the lagging that occurred while he was scrolling in the M8 video? I think this fixes it.

Thanked 91 Times in 32 PostsJ.Wong today reply, more detail on cpu.
M8 can stable working on 667Mhz,
CPU power supply is 1.0~1.3v which control and adjust by software.
during low speed 1.0v is enough, speed at 533Mhz required 1.2v, speed at 667Mhz required 1.3v.
M8 default software just require max speed on 533Mhz to working, third party software if require can fully stable working on 667Mhz,
Offcouse speed more higher will more use on power consumption , the heat also will more higher.

Thanked 1,024 Times in 375 PostsWell, it's not overclocking since it's a 667Mhz processor. It's only "downclocked" to 533Mhz so it doesn't consume as much power.

Thanked 29 Times in 16 Postsnot just that, but in standby mode (or probably when just browsing the menu) it runs on even lower frequency, so just using 1.0V of electric current. the built in apps when needed can take this up to 533Mhz (i.e. when viewing videos, or so), then it uses 1.2V-s. but if really somebody wants more power, then 3rd party software can make use of the full 667MHz clock rate of the cpu, but for built in apps (including playing videos at 720x480 resolution) the 533MHz is good enough, and will not cause lag.
that is how i understand JW's words.略懂

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsso what battery life can we expect from the device when we underclock? and how much when clocked at 667 instead of 533?
i would also like to see a downclock of around 200mhz when you do not use the device, or when just playing mp3's or other things wich do not need much processor power.
