although after downloading, they can't be played. i'm not sure if it's a problem with the bitrate or some other reason. moreover, the M8 can only support "simple profile"

不过转成h264好慢

同样码率转xvid快好多，差不多快4倍
although converting to h264 is really slow
but with similar bitrate converting to xvid is much faster, about 4 times

标配的EP20就是EP10加上线控的改良版 线控部分可以接电话、控制歌曲
the included EP20 headset is basicly the same as the EP10, with an improved remote control. with that remote you can receive calls and control the music playback.

Hopefully it is just the resolution(window size) that the conversion software window was sized to but the images in these two pictures looks very pixelated.

The comparison picture looks very good though. the quality is fantastic.

hold on.....so let me get this straight. Xvid with b-frames are now supported? is that correct? I personally don't have any xvid with a resolution of 720x480 so what will the upscaling of a regular Xvid at something like 640 x 352 look like? still good? Obviously there would be no point re-encoding to a higher res because it will look bad.

It looks so, yes I don't think you need to upscale it, I'm sure it can handle lower res videos too.

i'm really pleased to hear about the b-frames, but why does it only support simple profile mp4, the quality of the other profiles is higher i presume...

下午测试到现在以上2种参数在m8上播放都很不错,但文件有点大,楼主50MB的文件我转换后无论xvid 还是h264都有70MB,即使把码率降到2000kbps也有58MB.

JW: from afternoon until now above 2 setting( (show in above images) playing on m8 also very good, But the file size is little big, 30fps no problem, original 50MB file after i convert to either H264 or Xvid will have 70MB file size, Even i downgraded the bitrate to 2000kbps also have 58MB, converting to H264 speed is very slow .

JW: video not more than 720*480 resolution, normally just copy in to M8 than can play it directly.

yeah that is great news, this was one of the main features I was hoping for. To be fair though a few phones actually already have this feature, I believe the HTC Touch HD is very capable when it comes to playing Divx etc. I am hoping that the M8's interface will far exceed those of Windows Mobile devices particularly in terms of user friendliness and touch response.
