Thanked 91 Times in 32 PostsJW not mention anythink, but he voice out that he very busy on this and next month.
1. on bug think, reply from M8 tester, the almost most no more new bug or and most bug is solve already, just left few software need to be tune and finalise like QQ, RMVB, etc. and everythink work need to be finalise on november somethink like that.
2. And JW also need to finalise the spec, specially on MoviNand speed, power consumption tuning.
3. Few Meizu fans go to Meizu direct store/dealer to getting info on M8, and info like Meizu will start traning for Sales Agent on M8 at beginning November. also dealer mention will getting M8 on end of November and confident getting license.
look like November is Month for preparation for M8 launching。 marketing, delivery, production, vendor tranning, documentation, all required JW to join meeting , check and verify on paper.Last edited by waja2000; 10-26-2008 at 02:55 PM.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsMartijnGP; you never owned or intensively used a iPhone did you?
They do seem in a rush to release it, but I can imagine it being a lot of work to do.
But AGAIN, they underestimate the work. 1 month to go from fixing power consumption and os-bugs to finishing sales-deals, production, and commercializing? Wong won't sleep for a month!
With some luck they can barely make the end of the year.Last edited by DusL; 10-26-2008 at 01:08 PM.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts@DusL: In fact, I have. I've had an iPhone (non-3G, but the interface didn't change much) as my main phone for 3 weeks. It's okay, but the M8 already looks WAY better even though we haven't seen decent video's yet.

imo noone should judge the UI, since its customisable by using skins. we have a thread of existing skins or something like that.

Thanked 1,024 Times in 375 PostsYou can only customize the icons and the desktop background yet. With the SDK we'll be able to skin the UI too. It will be released sometime after the M8.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsWhat are you basing your argement on, icons placed in a grid?
- finger-touch GUI
- strong virtual keyboard
- use of multi-touch to zoom in/out
- involving coverart on a phone, coverflow
- LOADS of eye-candy, sleeker in contrast to a ugly WinMo
How were the above not innovative 2 years ago? All of the above do not contribute to much difference or were used by Palm or whoever else already?Last edited by DusL; 10-26-2008 at 06:09 PM.

Palm OS. I use one of those as my organizer and day planner. There's several current models, the T|X, Z22, Tungsten E2, the Centrio, and the Treos.

Eye candy is not innovative. The iPhone managed to leave out copy and paste, a function that has been on Windows Mobile phones forever. Coverflow is a unique concept, but is it innovative? The iPhone has excellent multi-touch and zoom in/out, but that alone doesn't make it innovative. If the iPhone had some basic functions and features (removable battery, copy and paste) it might be "innovative". But there are way too many shortcomings with the iPhone.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsWhat makes a phone innovative by your standards?
A removable battery isn't innovative, however the inclusion of it would contribute to it..
It's also no part of the GUI.iPhone 3G 16 GB
Firmware 2.2.1 jailbroken

A removable battery isn't innovative, correct. But being the first phone to have a battery that is soldered to the mainboard and is not easily accessible is very uninnovative. The GUI isn't innovative, and I believe I just listed why two posts above.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsStop arguing about iphone and meizu. We know that iPhone is a great phone and multimedia device and we really hope Meizu will beat it in SOME aspects. Currently there is no MEIZU M8 so the fight is between iPhone and NOTHING so the winner is obvious.

We've seen it operational. There IS a fight, but the fight is mostly pointing out the iPhone's flaws.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsNot like Meizu has less flaws or something, this is not how I'm interpreting any fight

Again if you think the iphone GUI isn't innovative than what would it take to make a GUI so by your standards..iPhone 3G 16 GB

I never said that the M8 didn't have flaws. I'm not talking bugs, I'm talking about functions (such as non removable battery).

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsWell, seeing it that way soldering the battery to the mainbord is actually innovative as no company has came up with something stupid like that before :P
And why shouldn't we discuss the GUI's of this kind of phones? That's what this is mostly about, I don't see the problem.

"Well, seeing it that way soldering the battery to the mainbord is actually innovative as no company has came up with something stupid like that before :P" - exactly what I was thinking when I read his post

"strong virtual keyboard" - Um, I don't know much about the iPhone...but...wasn't the virtual keyboard something that people greatly disliked about it? Here, check it out:
