When do you think the M8 will be released? October, November, December, or even later?

October, November, December...........2008 or 2009?

I voted November. October seems a little unlikely, considering it's so close. December is also possible if there are more delays... but I believe it will be certainly out before the end of the year.

Next year, lets be real Meizu just verily released a video of the phone which was promised back in july so i say there about 2-3 months behind. I think we should start a lottery whoever guesses the right date gets a free m8 =) my moneys on january 2010 .

November in china

when it's released in china, what do you think, how long does it take to be released in Europe (especially in Germany)?

there is certainly an urgency to get it released and we already know that Chinese forum members have been testing it. I voted December (optimistically) but you never know what will happen with the license and unforseen circumstances etc. But the video certainly went a long way in calming everybodys fears that it may never materialise. I do think though that Wong reaalises that the pressure is on and the market is moving very fast. I think he wants to release as soon as possible but the process must reach it's natural conclusion and the phone must be fine tuned as the competition is fierce and if it is to succeed it must be of an equal standard to other high end phones on the market in terms of both hardware and software quality. Lets not forget that many people in china who have the money for this kind of device do favour large western/japenese/south korean brand names as they are a status symbol, so buying a phone made by a home grown manufacturer may not be on many of those peoples agenda.

The license must also come. So the release date may actually not be completely in Wong's control despite his hopes for a november release. It does seem strange however to spend a long time developing such a device without actually having a license. Surely you would get the license first?

about the german version : that is a good question. Every picture from the development phase showed chinese skins, so I don't believe they've spent any efforts on localization in the first place. They want to flood the chinese market as soon as possible.
I assume that they need another 3-4 weeks minimum to be able to offer localized firmwares after the chinese version is on sale.

When they release the M8 in december it's very smart of then (because then is christmas).

But has the M8 also an English UI?

i think the chinese version will come with english, so i dont mind having that version, i hope they will be available on ebay soon!

its not that smart, because a release in December in China means release in Europe in January.

I say November.

I think vlc4iPhone might be released sooner.

For the people who didn't understand that, I think it will be December in the best case scenario if not spring '09 before it's really widely available.

Why do you guess December or Spring before it's widely available? I'm just curious about the big gap of time in between.

I want meizu m8 in November!

i would definately wait for the 16gb model, since music alone i already have too little space on my current 8GB meizu m6, and if i get a m8 its for watching a video from time to time, so i will definately need at least 16gb. (i would prefer 32gb but thats not yet announced)
