hmmmm I hope they are joking about 1200mah. The HTC diamond has a 900mah battery on a 2.8 inch 640x480 screen with a Qualcomm MSM7201A 528 Mhz processor and the battery life horrendous. 1200mah for a processor that is 800mhz with a 3.4inch 720x480 is seriously underpowered. I would say even 1400mah is still slightly underpowered. Maybe if they were using an amoled display they could get away with it but with a standard LCD the battery is looking like it will be poor.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Poststhis all depends on how the processor is downclocked when using in normal mode, like music playback would not need 800mhz at all, i think the battery could easely last 20 hours of music, but they need to downclock the processor for optimal battery life, video playback from divx at 720*480 will obviously need much more processor power and will drain the battery a lot faster, i think we can expect to see 4 hours of video playback in 720*480, when tuning down the brightness of the screen, and using lower quality videos you should be able to get 5-5.5 hours of video...
(these are my estimations, depending on how good they optimise the underclocking/power saving)
if you stream videos over your wifi connection and have bluetooth enabled battery will probably be empty in 3.5 hours or less...
i guess these estimates would be my minimum acceptable times, but off course its just a guess (we will know in a few months i guess/hope)

yeah that is a good point, hopefullly they will be able to downclock it efficiently when the full 800mhz is not necessary. I suppose they must have given this some consideration already. 1200mah just seems a little low to me, I suppose it all depends though on how they manage the power. The dell axim infact has a very similar spec with a 640x480 disply a 624mhz processor and 3.5 inches and again the battery was pretty weak, it was a while back though and I think the standard battery was only 950mah.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postswow. seems like the vapourware is finally materialising!
i have an iphone 2g. old, but its seriously great. [and i got it flat usd 499 with no contract, so it wasn't SO overpriced]. 3rd parties prog can be added by jailbreaking so not really a main issue.
meizu m8 looks promising though. but cannot really comment as hard to gauge from the video itself.
i wonder, if its possible to port android over to m8? i think that would be awesome rite? haha. if android can be ported over, i sell my iphone right away and get this instead!

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThat's an interesting question. I find that one of the major issues with Windows Mobile is how sluggish it is. HTC have had to release major firmware updates to fix the problem on the Touch Diamond, but its expensive and time-consuming for them to do so, and kills sales once people know that the OS is slow. Maybe Win CE is faster on smartphones, but a Google OS (don't know too much about it), would probably be much more easily customizable to suit different purposes.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsif you look at the video, i think the interface is quite nice and responds really quick compared to most other phones with the same features, and you have to keep in mind this firmware is still only beta (not meaning much with meizu, look at m6 library update, wich gets slower every update, but who knows, perhaps it will be different for the m8)

Apple can't even copy and paste :-P

If Apple are allowed to copy other systems/applications then they are fair game to be copied themselves....but this is O/T so i'm not going to get into it.

Apple is a great company, deception, prices, and proprietary stuff aside. Wait... Never mind.

Apple is a great company, as you said. Just mix Apple with Microsoft, and you have an infallible combination.

They'll get pulled apart by a government, since monopoly laws won't let them do such a thing. If they collaborate on software and hardware, whoa we'd have some pretty sweet computers.

I like it, but it looks too iphone-ish... Didn't they redesign the UI?
Anyway, i'm pretty sure the final version will look different. I look forward to buying one.

Post count? There's no point, unless he wants to be an eight year old, and be able to show off to his friends that's he's the highest poster. I doubt it.
