iPhone 3G are starting to develop cracks. Non-removable battery, AT&T's ridiculous prices. Sorry, but I don't think that the M8's list would be even with the iPhone's.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI guess I'm the kind of person who doesn't care as long as it's hackable. I understand and respect your devotion to the greater picture though.

Crack cases <-> Unknown hardware/software quality m8
Non-removable battery <-> No 3G/GPS
AT&T prices <-> Unavailable for any price anywhere, no release date
I'm on par at the moment :D
Of course it's more easy to point out flaws on a finished product than on something unreleased, so I already know I won't be able to keep this list even very long.
Rofl I got magic fingers - 2.0.1 just got released like 30 min ago. Lol a version between the spreading betas? Bug fixes and copy-paste feature :DLast edited by DusL; 08-05-2008 at 12:11 AM.

"I agree that no one will ever be laughed at for owning an iPhone. In fact it's actually the opposite, since it's such a fashion accessory."
Who knows? People have been laughed at for fashion accessories before. Like... I dunno...... leg warmers? xD! No one can tell the future, but if the iPhone does ever become a notorious phone for whatever reason in the future, it might happen.

The iPhone's GPS has to be connected to the internet. Is that even real GPS? 3G doesn't make sense to a lot of the US, as there is spotty coverage and the prices are rather high. Probably a different story in Europe, but the US is their main market. The 3G iPhone battery is very poor, although with some skills you could upgrade the battery (same with M8, but easier as it is logically removable).

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsIn my understanding it has aGPS, which is ordinary GPS+the ability to determine the position by comparing signals from known WLAN hotspots. By the help of the WLAN hotspots you can find your position faster and you can find it without the need to have access to the clear sky (in buildings i.e.). But you don't need those WLAN signals! You can still determine your position by satellites.

Yea but I'm pretty sure that you need Wi-Fi or 3G, or some sort of internet connection. That's what I thought when I was playing around with one.

No, you don't need an internetconnection to use an A-GPS. Usually GPSses with A-GPS sucks and it take very long time to get fix (signal). I don't know how it is with the iPhone 3G.
You can use a bluetooth-GPS with M8, and what I know the bluetooth is locked and unhacked atm on the iPhone 3G, so you can't use a bt-GPS.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsIt isn't sad to have an opinion based upon fact...not self-delusion.

For the record, my brother ordered the new iPhone and regrets ever buying it and, yes, he feels embarrassed to own it and he kicks himself to know how much he paid for it. So, yeah, he laughs at himself and I share his humour.
I gave my honest opinion based on facts and now that I've seen the iPhone's shortcomings "first-hand", I am definitely glad I didn't buy it too. Don't get me wrong, its a beautiful phone to look at and very responsive to use... BUT... that's it. Nothing more, nothing less. For what apps I would want on a phone (even some basics!) the iPhone is totally inadequate. My brother absolutely agrees with me.
So, yeah, nothing to do with bashing the iPhone or trying to convince myself its crap because I don't own one. I DON'T WANT TO OWN ONE, lol.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsAnytime... always ready to fight my corner.

No, seriously. I'm not being rude or anything just as honest as I can be.
It is inevitable that the iPhone will be surpassed before Christmas 2008 simply because of its own technical limitations. It isn't up to me or anyone else to explain this to people... I guess they will find out eventually. But sadly, like my brother, realisation will come too late.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsWell... that applies to every technical thing!
but about dec. 2008 has the Iphone 6 months glory..
.
But how about the M8? I am afraid that we have to wait one year more... So, when it is at least releasd... are the spes surpassed!
I wish not... because I am not any way resolved to purchase the Iphone.
