You're right, I'm just judging by the leaked photos, and the fact that reviews I've read of other Meizu products have said that the build quality is good, but not great.

pics look nice
however, if they are still debating on hardware level we wont see this phone for another 6 months atleast.

I refuse to get an Iphone but they sure are taking their sweet time

Right now, we lack manpower. After the M8 is finished, after the next generation's development, our next most important thing is to connect the M8 to the internet (?). For example, M8 accounts need messages, weather, stocks, news, daily knowledge, meizu bbs, etc, needs to be incporated into the M8.

Although the M8's browser is pretty good, but there is no way this can replace things such as the youtube service on the iphone. We need to cntinually implement these sort of web-apps to improve the M8.

The M8 build quality will not be horrible, but it certainly won't be better than the iPhone's. Believe me, I'm holding one right now. Although, that plastic bac on the new iPhone is not very durable and gets greasy, it still looks damn fine. Don't diss Apple products, as the alternative point is: have you ever held an iPhone?

Yeah, I'm holding an iPhone 3G as well right now. How do you know the build quality is going to be better? You don't. Please don't tell me Apple's marketing team didn't brainwash you!

The new one looks like... before you even touch it. Then it looks disgusting, a matte finish looks a lot nicer and more professional. Plus, it's not a fingerprint magnet.

The iPhone is just too overrated. Simple as that.

Think about it:

How many features does a non-jailbroken iPhone have?
How much does the contract, plus data, plus texting, cost over 2-3 years?
How many updates, other than 3G, does the new iPhone have?
How many times, have you have trouble replacing the battery for your iPhone when it ran low?

Seriously, Apple needs to walk away from everything being proprietary, and change to being universal.

EDIT: Also, the M8 will probably be one of the only phones on the market that will (probably) have a dedicated audio processor.

Its only cheaper if you already have AT&T 85% of the time or possibly in Europe.

theres no proof thats those are shot with the m8... + the lense of the m8 camera is very small so i doubt the photos will be so great, even though it's 3MP. But if the cam is better than any good 2mp cam on the market is ok for such a phone =).
People who want a high end cam are going to buy the new sony ericsson anyway.

People who want a high end camera buy a camera not a cellphone... I think the quality is fine for a cellphone. Of course it's noisy/blurry/jpg compression ugly, but good for point and click shoots. Megapixels mean nothing...

I agree completely this is a all in one device if you want great pics get a camera you can't expect studio shots from a PHONE. Like mentioned above MP mean nothing....

Hummm... I agree that these are definitely usable, but I'm not very convinced about their quality. It's true that they're fine for a cell phone, but unfortunately I think these results are still a bit inferior to those of the iPhone camera.
Even if it's rival is only 2MP, when you compare them side-by-side, these M8 photos have less contrast, more chroma noise, maybe more luminance noise, and definitely a lot more JPEG compression noise. In addition, the iPhone's luminance noise has a more natural feel to it, kinda like the typical grain you get with film.

Anyway, these problems can be reduced with clever software filtering, like Fujifilm does with the (already great) results of their SuperCCD sensors.. so I hope future iterations of the M8's photo software will bring improvements.

Ooops, I only read this now... I guess some of my complaints are justified then. I hope JW releases some new photos with better quality soon.
