Thanked 1 Time in 1 PostMeizu M8 online application
Seems that they were on-schedule this time!

The online application for the first M8 trial versions (alpha) has started. Now, I'm under the impression that the selected 500 testers will be under a non-disclosure agreement of some kind, so we may not see any pictures or movies just yet. But let's hope that something gets leaked..
Anyway, it's good to know that things are actually moving.
Here's the original thread.Last edited by Traps; 07-15-2008 at 01:52 AM.

It's good to know but at the same time nothing to write home about. For all we know these modals could be rubbish. I, and i'm sure most others, was hoping for some REAL news like pictures and/or video along with this.

Thanked 1 Time in 1 PostAfter rereading the announcement (damned google) I think I understand it a bit better, and in fact this is not very good news. Apparently, this application is going to take 1 whole month, and then Meizu will take around 10 days to choose and post the "lucky winners".. so it's still around 1.5 months until the actual test starts!

But why one whole month for application? That way it looks like they are just trying to gain more time.. everyone will probably apply on the 1st two weeks anyway..
I guess I'll just forget about the M8 (and phones in general) for 1.5 months and come back for news afterwards.

I doubt it. I don't think people who can't read/write/speak Chinese can even apply as one of the conditions is that you can only communicate using QQ which is a Chinese based messenger, like MSN.

Thanked 1 Time in 1 PostThe number of applications for the M8 testing keeps growing... they now have near 3000 thread replies.
It's already the 2nd week and it doesn't seem to have slowed down in the last days. Maybe that 1 full month wasn't so absurd after all... then again, if it wasn't a manoeuvre to gain some time they would have started the applications earlier.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsYou have confused the meaning of "applications" in the last few posts. They meant it as in registrations, not as in electronic programs :P
