Hi,
I was sick and tired of waiting for M8 so I had decided to buy an iPhone 3G. After seeing how much they want to charge me each month I loled and changed my mind. I want M8 again. But I want a release date. Or else I'm going to have to buy an LG or a N95 or whatever, because Meizu released their first renderings a year ago, and there's still no M8 on the shelves. I think they're taking way too long.
I just wanted to share this thoughts.

Thanked 19 Times in 19 PostsWell, I can try asking Yankee C. if he know anything else we don't know. I need anyway to know if he is left on holidays or not.
Last time I did write with him he said the M8 will be out in September.
But all the changes we have seen in these days it might be possible they have added more delays.
One thing, I would never buy a 3G Iphone, because I hate Itunes and the sound quality will properly be less good than Meizu.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsface it, people, no matter how good any IPhone will ever be, it's still something for the big mass, and I want something special that is not used by everybody.
I understand those who buy IPhones, but I will never.Be aware!
One day the M8 will come
And YES, it CAN make coffee!

I have to agree with M47Z 110%. It would be nice to have a phone that is different than what a lot of other people have. The dickheads over at Engadget (Ryan Block) think the iPhone is the second coming of Jesus. Like when everyone has an iPod, it's nicer to have a Creative or a Cowon or something other than an iPod.

I agree with Steave and m47z totally. The main reason I bought my Creative Zen is because I hate how EVERYONE has an Ipod. I wanted to be differnet. In my eyes, the Zen is way better then a Ipod.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI can understand that for a media player, although personally I do not care, I (try to) judge electronic devices on features, price and design (in this order), not exclusivity or popularity.
However, for a smartphone, PDA or any programmable device, this is different: the more the platform is popular, the more it is worthy, as a lot of value comes from the developper comunity and the software it provides. Especially if they comes for free or very low prices, and are of high quality (this is not mutally exclusive).
Of course, you could get both exclusivity associated to low diffusion and a huge developper base, as long as there is compatibility with a common OS/SDK. That's where Windows mobile is great, and android, if it succeed, even more so (being opensource). Thats where iPhone lacks, because only iPhone is compatible with OsXmobile...succes of the platform automatically imply non-original phone.
For me a common phone is not a problem if it is good (and good value). It is the fact that soft distribution is controlled by Apple that bugger me, it is the more closed platform of the 3 that are of interest to me. Grrr, Apple is such a control freak that I really really try to find something else before buying one of their programable device (Mac, iTouch or Iphone). Their Media players are ok though, as long as they play common format and do not force DRM on me

No that's not the main reason. I definitely go by specs, but having a unique phone is a big plus for me. To me the iPod Classic (and nano) is crap, inferior in quality (look at all the broken 5G's on ebay, it's a joke). All they did with the 6G iPod Classic was update the design and hard drive size. They kept the same motherboard as the 5G. What a joke. Anyways, there are MANY brands that have better MP3 players than the iPod. Creative is a good example.

The main reason why I bought the Zen is because I don't like Ipods (hate the click wheel) and everyone I know has it. I wanted a MP3 player and found the Zen and loved it so much. The Zen has FM Radio, it can except external memory, has the very common 5 pin USB port, and best of all, I bought one brand new with 4BG for $99. These days, a lot of people are blinded by Apple. They think that everything Apple make is the best and some of the stuff they is good, but has lots of flaws. Bottom line, I like the Creative Zen better than a Apple Ipod Nano.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI think they are superb in presenting the stuff they *do* include.
I've been browsing around the App Store and I gotta admit it looks really good, even knowing that the app store is limited and WinMo apps are probably unlimited in quantity. I know the SDK is the crippeling factor in the quality of the apps, that's perhaps why atm there is a remarkable high percentage of games present. But there still are apps available for all categories, with a fair amount being for free.
It may not be godlike, but I just like the way they presented this idea.
No comments on the iPhone 3G itself from me, buy it if you like or don't if you detest it. Price plans are really different for respective countries (it's actually - an okay - priceplan in the netherlands, versus total ripoff in the states :P), one should note that before gaying Apple for it. But of course it's expensive, what do you want if the contract is supposed to supplement all features of the iPhone.
Specs are certainly not all to it; it's how the specs are used. If Apple manages to make people super-happy with a overpriced "low-specd" Apple-limited phone, what's the problem then? I thought the final product was supposed to make you happy. Of course this doesn't apply to everyone, so buy from another brand or from Meizu next a year, or an Android etc etc if this is the case with you.
My thoughts for the week.
OH WAIT:
- iPhone 3G actually has 2 screws on the bottom of the device, it is rumored that this is meant to simplefy the removal of the battery for third-parties. Honestly I can't think up of any other reason why Apple would do this
- I'm waiting patiently for the highly anticipated 2.0 firmware jailbreak. Running the App store and Installer and Cydia next to eachother just makes me a happy person on a iPod Touch :D Seems that the main hackteam already has pulled it off, just not publicly released though. Can't take too long in my mind, the Pawnage tool was born to pawn 2.0.
- the m8 has lost it's appeal for me. For some reason I just don't see it becoming the better choice over the iPhone (or comparable products) anymore. Perhaps I'm the only one here feeling that way, perhaps it's because this is a Meizu fanforum :D
- please add rep for this post will ya :P the green plus on the bottom-right corner of this post. My reputation just looks rediculusly low atm
...
...
yeah now i'm ready
