M8 avalaible in September?

Hi all,

According to a source of generationmp3.com, the new M8 could be released in September at IFA in September or a little later.
Their sourse also told about beta testing of the device with a limited number of persons during this summer.

Seems the device is becoming more and more real...!

Have to agree completly with you.

Even though I'm new om this forum I have been following the M8 since it the start.


When/If it gets out I'll sure as hell get one (even if there is no B-frame H/W decoding), but I am starting to doubt if Meizu can pull this through.

Yep, their source are likely the chinese BBS board, and Wong posts...Or, as likely, MeizuMe itself, talk about circular information!!! LOL

Besides that, I do not follow the chinese forum, but I know some members here do. However it seems that there is no news from there recently, at least nothing which get posted here...Strange as I would expect the chinese board to be very active close to the supposed alpha testing (either to comment the test, or to get angry about another missed promise

Hmm first they told they are going to release it at the same time as Apple wants to release the iPhone. Then it was IFA 2007. Then it was CES2008 and now it's IFA2008.

What's next? Football worldcup 2010?

Did they really say that it would be out when the iPhone would be?

I know that's just another rumor like so many before, but in my opinion there is at least one difference: the beta testing, this could indicate that the phone is complete now.
And another thing, generationmp3.com is the most visited website related to mp3 players in French language, just to show that its not a simple rumor coming from an unknown website...

I visit genmp3 daily, as much as I visit MeizuMe, good news there and in my native language for a change ...but I would be surprised if they have sources regarding the m8 that MeizuMe do not have: in fact I guess most blogs/internet news websites gather the info on M8 mostly from here, maybe from the chinese Meizu forum (followed by some people here also), and on even fewer occasion from interview at expos or direct mail to Meizu (which people here do too).
So basically I do not believe that any non-chinese internet news website is more informed than MeizuMe on the m8, first hand (or second hand, if you count the chinese board) info get here and then the others pick it, rephrase it, if they are good try to confirm it, and publish it elsewhere ...

I agree with gkai, when meizu was arrested at the cebit, engadget said it was because of the m8 looking too much like the iphone, generationmp3 gave the same info as on meizume it was quickly said that it was the mp3 licence.
There news on the m8 is just copied from other forums...

september release date is an old story. it's quite pointless to disscus that until september and release/another delay.

Let's be real here 2 months? You have to remember both alpha/beta debugging then hardware changes and then production add in thats its meizu and your looking at late December maybe Christmas. Reality is September is way to fast I'd put money on it
