I think that I would prefer an ABCDEF keyboard, not like the one in the picture.

I agree with ya on this Steve. That KLIOP layout sucks some what. It'll be a bit confusing at first, as i haven't used one before but I suppose now is the time to start. I do like how the keys are big but the layout isn't on my pro list.
On a better note, I am loving that background and the new UI sample. It just looks so smooth a fluid. DAMN SEXY if ya ask me.Last edited by tails2; 03-16-2008 at 10:11 AM.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsYeah, should have. So what? You have seen the performance of the prototype board. If that is what you want, go ahead, demand they release the thing with the old CPU. If you want good performance, you have no choice than wait, or just buy the damn iPhone, where's the problem? If you can't wait, buy the iPhone. It's a decent device.
It doesn't matter if the software is ready, if Meizu makes changes to improve the thing or just sit and wait and do nothing. They can not release the thing without CPUs to put in.

@SteveMB93
Rofl, no offense, but for the past 14 months the m8 has been one huge "should have, would have, could have, will have (only to be changed a few months later)"
I fail to understand the big picture behind your comment as well.
@kadajawi
nice of you to join SteveMB93 in the neverending opinion-wars.
"So what?" -> In other words you do think that their 12-month delay is justified?
please don't start with me about the m8 having good performance or improvements for which people would wait for --> no have no damn idea what the m8 will be like
I don't have an iPhone because I live in the Netherlands and importing it sucks in my opinion in terms of warrenty and no support from a Dutch apple store. Waiting for a iPhone2 release.
Please why can't someone just agree with me for once, for heaven's sake :D:PLast edited by DusL; 03-16-2008 at 07:07 PM.

Good things come to those who wait. There's no doubt there have been some delays, but Meizu is limited because they can't make a phone as quickly as Apple because they're not a multi-billion dollar corporation. Also, Apple has been around a lot longer. I'm not going to agree with an Apple fanboy. I think the wait will be well worth it. Sure you can hurry up and do things half-a$$ed, but it won't be nearly as good.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsLol I really am the perfect example of an Apple fanboy by not having a single Apple product in my posession....ever.
No, not even an iPod. My previous-before-m6 mp3-player was one of those usb-stick-like-musicplayer thingies. I'm just saying things as I think they are with my rational thinking. My rational thinking makes me negative about Meizu after waiting for 14 months.
Please look up my posting-history. I was all-out pro-Meizu, point was that was back in June of last year or something. For some reason I haven't fully given up on Meizu just yet, but please forgive my sarcastical tone from time to time. If it was any other company I would probably stamped the iClone/vapourware/lagger-nametab a long time ago.iPhone 3G 16 GB

You're right, however. I do believe the M8 will be a great device, probably best to get it after the first firmware update, due to "children's diseases", as we Dutch people call it.
2 conditions for me to get one. It has to be available over here, not gonna import. And, well, there's this money issue. It'll be relatively cheap, compared to others, but it's still a couple of hundred euros, I reckon.
Excuse me, on-topic now: Those latest images really do look nice. And on the device itself, those things always look better even. Look at the screenshots of M6 skins: they look nice, but usually better on the device itself.

yeah the Ui definitely looks crisp and smooth, really like it. Not sure if I Like it more than the original layout though. I think the iphonesque number pad doesn't look as good as it did before. Still very nice though, the front screen aswell looks a little boring although I like the grass wallpaper. Would rather see a clock with hands like vista has rather than a digital clock.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsYou will have to import the M8 too

Yes, it sucks, as importing the thing would have been much easier would it have been released a few weeks ago. But there is nothing I can do to change that, is there? But my phone is still working, it is very capable (better equipped than the M8 (GPS, 3G), so I can wait. Or, depending on the SDK, maybe just get a second hand iPhone...
Anyway, all I wanted to say is that there is a reason the M8 is delayed, and there is nothing at all that Meizu could do, except use an older CPU, but that would suck. But Meizu can try to improve the device while they are waiting, and make it less like the iPhone. Ok, they could also start working on other devices... M7 anyone? But I'd guess that the hardware team is currently working on 3G etc., though maybe someone works on a M7 already/again. But the hardware appears to be finished, which is good.

I am loving that background too sere83. I love all those clean/crisp/fresh type of backgrounds and use them on my psp a lot. I like the clock but am hoping that the phone will have a hell of a lot of features that can be customized, as in we will be able to choose either a digital or analogue clock. I also hope they will have a few different skins pre-installed on the phone like my sony ericsson. Out of all my sony ericsson phones i've had, they always have a few themes pre-installed and i love how alot of features are customizable.
Hey DusL, I am totally on your side on this. The constant delays are something to be annoyed about. Sure it's nice that they want the phone to be in good working order and what not but let's be real for a minute, I still think that the phone might just be old before it's even new.
Here's hoping i'm wrong...

Thanked 1 Time in 1 PostEngadget has a new article about the M8 UI tweaks.
While aparently recognizing JW's efforts to pull away from the iPhone, they still keep their fanboy-biased Meizu bashing.
