Gimp is pretty hard to learn, harder than Photoshop at least, which in itself is not quite an easy program. But good luck.

I'm not really sure I get what you are doing.

For zooming I would use the Apple way, there is no point in being different just in order to be different.

I wouldn't want to shake around the device, better base it on gestures.

Please don't use serif fonts on a UI, ok, with the very high resolution of the screen that might work (still would look weird and strange though), but I would just stick with a good, easy to read sans serif. Guess I would use Frutiger, or maybe Myriad (though Apple uses that one on their computers etc.).

There you can see a interface I created, haven't found the time to finish it though. I would think of something in that direction, though the interface is not meant for touchscreens, so a lot of things would have to be adapted. Come to think of it, by making it "kinetic" like on the iPhone, one could quickly flick through the options. When nicely animated, the media player could work pretty well that way.

No. There i canno see what you have done, becuase you need to be a member. Maybe you could host them elsewhere?

One thing... don't pay attention to the sour comments... you do your best.

The things is that due to be waiting for so long time the ghostly M8... some users have become depressed, sour and meanie.
