You mean that one with the buttons? I also like that one better, but I don't think it looks more like the iPhone.. the iPhone has a grid instead of buttons:

(PS: the M8 icons still look too much like these ones... that should change)

Yeah, the one with the separate buttons. It's nicer than the grid, and the new one looks more like the iPhone (and also more ugly). But it's still not final so...

i hope the interface will be moddable, so we can choose our own personal layout,
if it actually gets released, becouse if they keep repeating the same steps over and over, they will stay in design phase for infinity.

They shouldn't settle for 'good enough'. They want to also reach an audience that doesn't care about customozing, skinning, so the product itself should be good.

Considering at the moment its only being released in China, then who cares. The chinese are generally not technophobic, and are generally not rich enough to fuss about the GUi of a phone! I think, that the latest renders look fine, I would be happy if my Motorola RAZR had that theme, so I don't see it as a problem. If you seek perfection, then you will never find it. Just the release the damn hting already!

The first picture is talking about the ability to display song lyrics. After 2 or 3 lines have been sung, you can click the arrow and the album picture will disappear and the lyrics will be displayed.

The second picture just details that you can assign numbers to the * and # keys to be used at any time. For instance if you want to assign China's country code '0086' to it, instead of having to type in 0086 then the phone number you can just press either * or #(whichever you have assigned it to) and then the rest of the phone number.

it definately looks great, i hope it will be mass storage, not like the itunes from ipod, becouse i really do not like that,
the most important to me is that it has divx/xvid support up to 720x480, so i can watch movies on it without recompression, but a nice interface is also important!

Wow... the UI is starting to look gorgeous :D

It's looking more and more like the unique original UI that the M8 deserves! (there are still some iPhone-ish bottom icons, but JW also mentioned that some icons may still not be final)

Now if some of the inner menus were not so dark, it would be perfect!
