Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsfirst of all, you don't need to quote the first post above you. let me ask you something, how do you know that casing is identical, m8 video is crappy and take a better look, two colors on the back and a removable battery cover are not on the i phone. about the home screen, that's just a theme dude. every phone on the market has the iphone theme.

If the Meizu is copying any interface, it is the Palm interface, not the iPhone interface. But then again, the iPhone is copying the Palm interface as well.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsAnd then came the info that it had nothing to with M8 iPhone similarity, but instead it had to do with MP3 licensing. It would be nice for people to THINK before bashing either Apple or Meizu. Doomedsabre, the 3 devices shown on the pictures all on all had the same UI style. The other two are wider (I guess they're just technically older) and the 1st's UI looks simpler, the second's has side menus... That's not a real difference. The only thing that could be a bit identical in the casing is the same bending in an the back side compared to the outter side of the M8 and iPhone but please... It's just the technical advancement allowing for smaller/better holdable devices, not copying. You can't say the M8 is an iPhone copy if the iPhone is a copy itself. Just because you only know Apple and the iPhone, it doesn't mean the almighty apple has once again saved the world with a completely new and perfect device. Because their iPod/iPhone part is just a much bigger and richer and greedier version of Meizu.
I think the M8 is INSPIRED by the iPhone and tons of other products (actually I'm quite sure that Meizu has long ago looked over ALL of the previous PDAs and Phones and music players in the previous... 2-3 years before even starting the first scetch of the M8!)
P.S.: Yes, I don't like Apple and the i things indeed, but I wouldn't hold anything against apple that is wrong. I only hold the price and overall features of their players against them, and I never ever liked paying more for a name.
If one thinks I'm wrong, I'm open to a peaceful discussion, driven by reasoning of course. I hope the reasoning can be brought in to this conversation because plainly saying "it's a copy and whoever can't see it is stupid" is really not a reason, and I don't concider myself stupid. Simply (as stated before) I don't accept it as "a copy of the iPhone" before it can be proven that the iPhone hasn't copied it before. Or before pointing at exact similarities.

Thanked 1 Time in 1 PostI just googled up the Palm OS..
To be honest, I didn't find the graphical design similar in any way, although some function design concepts are indeed there.
However, If you mean ALP (ACCESS Linux Platform - Palm's successor), then the similarities are quite noticeable:

I never said that "apple has saved the world blah blah blah" crap youre obiously pulling. Im not even into apple!
You wanted a good comparison, here we go. for example, simply look at the calender icon. Quite similar right? yeah, sure theyre not identical but hey, if Meizu didnt want to make a copy then why make for example the "top line" red, when they could hace gone with any other color? well, quite simply because they wanted it to look like iphone.Rehab is for quitters!

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Poststhat's a huge difference. what's not to get, a black colored phone with no keyboard (thus screen only). definition of clone is something like an exact copy of a DNA segment. win ce-osx (or whatever there is on the iphone), it's like you-your sister. huge difference, no clones there even if you're wearing simmilar clothes.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsok youre right, have a look at this one then;
Meizu M8 mini One vs. iPhone... fight! - Engadget
I really can´t understand how one can argue against the fact that m8 is a
Iphone look-a-like... I really can´t. Even after when the CEO oficially have gone out saying that they clearly are mimiking (not sure on that word, prolly wrong :/) the Iphone. If i were to buy the m8, and show it to my friends, who are not as techy-nerdy as anyone on this forum (including me),
what would their initial reaction be?
yeah, you guessed it right,
"Is that the new Iphone?"
"No its the M8"
"M8?"
"yeah, couldnt you see that right away? its so obious thats its not the Iphone, i mean, come on, its got three bloody buttons! how many does the Iphone have?"
"..."
"one dammit..."
"aha, I get it, its a cheap rip-off?"
"No-.- Its a m8, totally different from the Iphone"
"so... whats the difference? they look the same to me..."
well, i think you catch my drift... It is an Iphone clone to everyone outside the techy "three-buttons-makes-all-the-difference-in-the-world-mr-freeman"
geek croud.
