Well - that are the facts: no M8 at CeBit. The plastic mockup do not really count, do it? For me that's the prove. It's time to skip waiting. But read yourself:
So we hurried on over to the Meizu booth in sweaty-palmed anticipation of laying fleshy bits upon a working M8 MiniOne. It's gotta be here, right? After all, Meizu CEO Jack Wong promised it his damn self. Nope. Oh sure, they did bring that siliconless, plastic mockup already seen kicking around the Nets for awhile and they offered to show us a laptop-based demo of the UI if we come back tomorrow. Although even the demo is feature incomplete. Nevertheless, Meizu is confident that it will begin shipping the M8 in China in the next "half year" while remaining coy for a rest-of-world launch. Guess reverse engineering the iPhone isn't so easy, eh Jackson?

I think thats the last straw for me. I have been hanging out for a long time now, just waiting for this phone as i love my M6.
They dont even have a working UI demo, what a joke. We were all told they would have one to show us, and this is how they treat they're fans.
Disapointed

Well, my phone (HTC P3300) is just one year old and is running fine.
I can afford the wait. But Jack should have held his word, he said it would be here.
I'll just get a psp instead and wait

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsIt might just be me, but i feel the DS does what it does quite well, where as the PSP always feels sluggish and crappy. That said, I've never used a slim and lite one, and I've heard they're unbelievably better. But hey, don't let me put you off buying one; I've never been a real hardcore gamer, I've sorta always been a casual dancer...
Now we should stop lol, coz this is so far Off topic it's not funny lol...

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsYou are right, they are just a little iPhone biased.
I guess you would have to expect that from iPhone fanboys.
If (and it is still not 100% certain) this is indeed true...to me, the M8 is dead. D-E-A-D.
Dead as in "not worth waiting, not worth getting, not even worth thinking about it anymore"
To generate all this hype and speculation, with shady pictures and time to time appearances of J. Wong on the boards creating momentum and after more than a year later, still have nothing solid to show... i call FAIL on this.
Showing up with a working prototype was the acceptable.
I could have lived with a finished external casing to present the design, along with working motherboard and final specifications, finished UI running on another machine and a fairly certain timetable to mass production and shipping....but would still probably just quit and buy something else.
There is very little hope in me that this isn't the HUGE failure it seems to be.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsLike one week is going to make that huge a difference after they haven't been able to roll the thing out in over one and a half years...

Don't want to appear gleeful, but... I ain't surprised. :D
And a friggin showcase of the M8's UI? PC based? That's all they got to show after all that time? What a joke!Last edited by Graymalkin; 03-03-2008 at 12:28 PM.
"iPhone? Well, due to Meizu prolonging the release of M8 further and further and cutting it's specs more and more, I just found myself buying that over-hyped, over-prized piece of yesterday's technology. In fact, it's pretty cool - even with the half-eaten fruit on it..."

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThat just got ridiculous. I hope tomorrow they will really show up with something more than a plastic mockup and a PC gui presentation. I imagine J. Wong explaining after Cebit that the phone and 2 motherboard were sent but didn't make it on time. You know what?? Teclast announced their touch screen T50 player sometime ago and the T59 (which probably has phone capabilities) is under the design phase. I think if they don't show anything at Cebit then we should go for Teclast

A very bad move for Meizu internationally if they don't show anything during the remainder of CeBIT. Then again, they might be satisfied with the Chinese market alone.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThis is pretty screwed yeah. Engadget may be heavily prejudiced, but they wouldn't lie to people in their articles. I don't give a damn for a plastic dummy and a non-complete laptop demo is even less convincing to me. What the hell have they done in the past years in terms of developing? I'm saying years, as Wong said in jan07 that they didn't rip the iPhone off because it was already months in development.
