Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsDespite being biased, i trust Engadget much more than anyone from Meizu.
But i will wait till the end of the week so that Cebit is in full power..no problem there.
Then, when the disappointment is confirmed I'll just have to choose between getting a iPhone and jailbreak it or hold for a truly worth waiting for project: OpenMoko

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsOuch. Why did wong then write that they will show up with a prototype and 2 mainboards, when all they can show us is a laptop based demo (wtf?)? I am very disappointed, guess we'll see the phone by Q3... 2010.

man this is a joke! i'm starting to think F**k Meizu! we need to get some representatives to go over to the Chinese BBS and kick off! what a joke. The CEO chats a load of rubbish about it definitely being there and then this. I've had faith and patience in MEizu's ability but now i'm thinking forget it.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts"iPhone? Well, due to Meizu prolonging the release of M8 further and further and cutting it's specs more and more, I just found myself buying that over-hyped, over-prized piece of yesterday's technology. In fact, it's pretty cool - even with the half-eaten fruit on it..."

well apparently M8fans.com seem to say it will be shown tomorrow. Engadget may be jumping the gun a little considering the show has not even started properly. Nevertheless they are not stupid i'm sure they must have asked if it would be shown. I suppose there is still a chance that they may still show a working prototype as It does seem strange for J. Wong to say it would be there only days before and be aware of all the hype and continuous interest then let everyone down without at least an excuse. I just posted an angry message on the official Meizu forum, I really hope I have to eat my words.

you know,
im about 100% sure that all this bitching and screaming, getting your knickers sooo tied up in knots will all fall by the wayside when the m8 is released... and you will all be jumping up and down... i know it, i will even say i told you so when it happens.
i want one too, im also impatient, to top it my m6 is giving plenty of problems, dropped too many times, so am WANTING a replacement ASAP...
thats life.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postscourtesy of google, it translates as such:
"Really an engineering and prototype development of version 2
Only part of the prototype plastic production, and does not have enough time to deal with the same good plastic surface
Although there is no perfect functions, but the main part has been completed, but also does not have enough time details,
At least skilled people see it, the basic conclusion can be: can we really imagine Meicou the m8 done.
So the purpose of this exhibition have already been met."
which means corporate bla bla bla

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsDoes anybody really believed that any manufacturer will be able to put into a device all the specifications provided by M8?. Nokia can not, Sony-Ericsson can not,HTC, Samsung, Motorola, Apple can not! Who the fuck thought that meizu will be able to do it?
I am really angry because I hate liars most than everything, so the only thing i can say is that meizu has one buyer less.
At least we got the Iphone, a real model, not a nasty lie!

Omg this can't be true
A few posts after the J Wong statement
Looks like even people able to speak Chinese don't understand what Wong said...Prototype Demonstration projects can be?
xD
But if Meizu doesn't present a prototype.... SHAME ON YOU MEIZU
I will go to CeBIT on the 6th... Actually the main reason was the m8 !!!!!
So if there is nothing but an incomplete demo on a laptop
WTF?!?
btw.: Now I know the reason the m8 was announced so cheap... Because before it is going to be released the prices of flash etc will have dropped by 90% or even more...
EDIT: Ok I was at the CeBIT and what engadget said was not what I saw... They did not have a demo on a laptop but a big board with a screen that actually was functional as a phone... No shame for Meizu!
And the screen is so nice... gorgeous!Last edited by Yeeze; 03-06-2008 at 07:13 PM.

I have pretty much lost all faith in Meizu, like many people I actually believed they would bring a working prototype. I'm not even gonna believe what Mr Wong says from now on. Until I see a working M8 in the hands of someone from a reputable source of tech information like engadget I'm going to take the M8 to be vapourware. I now feel a bit stupid that I actually defended meizu's claims about the M8. The reputation of the company has definitely been tarnished from my point of view. I've already sent an e-mail to Meizu expressing my dissapointment and asking for answers as to why they continue to decieve us, but all I got was an automated out of office reply from Ella Wong saying she will not reply until march 14th after cebit has finished.

Eventhough it's pretty hard to understand this translation, this part dragged my attention. Does it mean that they just want to show us that they can finish this project by showing us a plastic dummy and a friggin' laptop gui demo??
